Yeah, I found that.
Sold a van and replaced it with a 2-door saloon.
Chalk and cheese. If the van had driven like the saloon I would never have sold it.

Re: Morris Minor Owners North West
Full-on "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" dress did squeeze into the rear seat of my 2-door Minor. I did remove the front passenger seat though.

Re: Spotted today.
As I was returning from an RM Club Committee meeting yesterfay afternoon, a beautiful-looking Teal Blue Pickup passed me heading south on the A49 near Whitchurch. It was on a trailer being pulled by a SUV.

Re: Drive it day 2023
Er.....every day is drive it day - isn't it? Of course but this is a specific charity event to raise funds for NSPCC by purchasing your display plate and get as many classic cars out driving on the day. That's why my post was titled drive it day 2023. Aaah, I hadn't realised that it had morp...

Jim's early convertible at Avro Heritage Centre, Woodford, Cheshire on DiD. I was in my 1966 2-door saloon.

Re: Incontinence
Thanks again Phil.
Any love for PTFE tape as a thread sealant? Just avoids the going-off time. I would usually have to wait ovrnight for the Loctite to set enough to resist the momentary pressure from the grease.

Re: Incontinence
Many thanks Phil. What do you use as a driver to remove and replace the seal plate? Never having seen one off the car, it looks to have a circular section slot, like a Woodruff key slot. Or do I have it wrong, and it is just a parallel slot that a large flate-blade screwdriver bit would remove? I kn...

Incontinence
Bit of knowledge if you would be so kind - I am having trouble sealing the top trunnion on my 1965 1000 2-door saloon; the grease escapes from the screwed plug. Next step is to make a tool out of a sacrificial socket and some tool steel flat bar to act as a screwdriver bit so that I can remove the s...

I can see that I am in a minority here!
The best thing I liked about my recently-departed Jowett Javelin was the shape, and I see similarities.

Re: Morris fastback
I'd have a try. Just a little bit more slope - think Sunbeam Rapier Coupé - and it would look better imho.

Re: Orbital sander advice
If you are trying to use a flat-sheet electrical orbital sander, you are using the wrong tool. The random orbital sanders would be a better bet, though I have never used an electric one on car bodywork. You don't need that much pressure but you do need to progress down the grit sizes of the discs. T...

Re: How to transport your Classic Car....
Should work. In the days before ratchet straps I used to tie the rear axles to the rear beam of the trailer, pull the car forwards using the winch until the rear rope tie was taut, then tie the front axles to the front beam of the trailer. Never lost one. Well, there was that Pathfinder on the A24.....

Re: Any Volvo 240 owners here?
I have had a few. Also the 140 series, very much in the same vein. Built like battleships. I chopped one up once, and was amazed at the structural integrity. Took me ages to cut through all the strengthening panels. Mechanically easy to keep on top of, though I avoided the fuel-injection models to k...

Re: Morris Minor, Swindon, Wiltshire
Nice to see another Peat car.
When I bought mine, I thought that Peat was the worst choice of colour ever for a Minor.
Since then, I have gone off it.

I don't suppose by any chance that an alternator has been retro-fitted? That would alter my response.
