Door handle return spring
First time I did a repair on a door handle return spring I used a hammer & punch to fold the metal at the sides of the groove to hold the spring in place. I then cut a small metal place & used resin glue to attach the plate over the groove to help stop the spring slipping out over time. The ...

Glove box modifications
I noticed an article on here about installing a stronger magnetic catch on the later morris minor passenger glove box. I had already discovered this when looking at ways to improve the lid. I also turned mine into a shelf, which I did by drilling two holes in line with the lids brackets, through the...

Re: Radiator cap - slight variations
It's taken a while, but I got a replacement short reach cap to replace the long reach one I bought previously. To conclude... the long reach version seemed too long - ie it touched the lower section inside & had to push the spring down to tighten it. And the short reach is shorter than the cap I...

Re: Radiator cap - slight variations
Thanks Mike! I ordered a long reach type in stainless & I'll see how it compares. Stainless seems a bit of a gimmick, not overly keen on bling, but at the same time stainless is better quality. I got enough rusty panels elsewhere to compensate. Next job in that area will be bending a brass overf...

Radiator cap - slight variations
Call me a fuss pot, but I started looking at replacement radiator caps on ebay & noticed there is different sizes depth of cap. I was unaware of this. Apparently there are 3/4" & 1" deep filler neck. It says on the listing for a 3/4" filler neck, that some models use a long re...

Re: Under bonnet insulation pad
That's interesting to hear, thanks! The insulation squares sound like a better option, as easier to fit.

Under bonnet insulation pad
Has anyone installed one of these? https://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-inc-panels-trim-c21/trim-parts-carpets-c35/under-bonnet-insulation-pad-cannot-send-overseas-p828810 I've been pondering on whether or not to buy & fit one. How effective is it at cutting down sound? My van is parked outsid...

Re: Glove box material
Thanks for you replies. I'm glad I asked, as I'll feel better taking them in & out in the future. Looking forward to finishing off the work behind the dash, to have the glove boxes back in.

Glove box material
I've been doing some wiring behind the dash lately, so my glove boxes have been in & out several times. I often wonder if those glove boxes contain asbestos? It would be good to know either way. Does anyone know?
Fingers crossed they don't, as new replacements are very expensive.
