Paint, HELP!
Right, further to my previous topic, I could really do with some help on the subject of painting! Im planning on doing a bare metal respray, at home (Im quite handy with a spray gun already but have only ever really used household paints and agricultural enamels). going to be using Cellulose but hav...

Re: Brake spring position, wolseley 1500 drums
Yes I did the same, used the copper ones with brass fittings from ESM. Carefully bent them into shape, worked a treat. More pics to follow, I have the hubs to fit and drums to spray and fit etc. Also, mildly related, I want to drop the car down onto its wheels so i can move it about for painting etc...

It then had 2 coats of Zinc rich primer and rust converter in the relevant areas, 2 coats of chassis black then a final couple of top coats of waxoyl....................if it rusts now ill eat my own ...

Spraying engine bay/boot
Just thought Id check to see if the experts on here agree. I am doing a bare metal respray for the engine bay and boot, and the plan is to do a couple of coats of Zinc 182 onto the bare metal followed by a couple of high build primer.....or more as necessary. Followed by x amounts of top coat cellul...

Brake spring position, wolseley 1500 drums
Evening everyone, once again I do apologise for not being around much recently. But im back from Uni now for the summer, so work has once again commenced on XTT 433 :D Im very close to getting the car back down on its wheels now, but first off I have to sort the front brakes. The question I have is,...

Re: Don't know where to start
DO NOT DESPAIR! As John says, do one bit at a time and just ignore the rest until you get it. If you try doing 8 things at once it will seem all the more daunting! If it helps, have a flick through my photos. My moggy wasnt as badly rusted as yours, but the basics such as sills, spring hangers and i...

Front hub bearing removal
Afternoon everyone, havent been around 'ere for a while! Anyway, i got a front hub bearing kit from ESM the other day....thinking it would be a simple job of drifting out the old bearings with a suitable socket/pipe and putting in the new ones. Turns out this is not so, or im being an idiot. The man...

Some more progress!
Howdy people, long time no posts I know. Truth is i havent had much of a chance to spend time on the Moggy of late what with it being 300 miles away whilst Im at University! Still, the snow has allowed me to spend a bit of time putting a few things back on. Im afraid a few parts I painted in the sum...

Think thats the same thing! Mine just came out with a good sharp blow, and so did the other one too. Probably assembled ...

Trunnion replacement
Well, Just had a successful day of assembling the entire offside front suspension. New track rod ends, all poly bushes, new trunnions the lot...its starting to look like a car again :D The one question I have though, as I couldnt find a mention of it in the workshop manual. Is how far down do you sc...
