XRL 684A
Hi all, I recently found a box of old photos that I’d forgotten about. Amongst them was a couple of our first Moggy. We bought it from Cornwall in about 1986 and had it until the last MOT. The tester condemned it there and then. We had to get it recovered home. Not having the skill room or money to ...

Re: Remote servo
Paul I've tried lots of different search combinations, on different search engines and like you I've drawn a blank.Sorry. Hope someone else holds the clue. Bob Yep, strange one. I fitted it today and works very well. I’ve mounted it horizontally as there is a bleed nipple on top. Plenty of braking ...

Re: Remote servo
Paul ( ? ) could you tell us what is on the small plate screwed / pop rivetted to the casting and also the the letters and numbers moulded into the casting itself ? It would speed up the Internet searching to establish the manufacturer. From that , it might be possible to find a set of installation...

John, normally I would agree. However this does seem to be good quality. Very heavy and no plastic so as you say. We will see

Re: Remote servo
Well ones designed with the Bolted on rear plate are very rare as after market items from what I can see on the interweb. Almost all designs use the clamp ring to hold the rear on. However, this one looks remarkably similar: http://www.pastparts.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=...

Remote servo
Hi all, just bought a remote servo for my trike. Not the moggy. Very different to the Lockheed one I have on the car. It’s heavy and all metal. Can anyone identify it please. No info wit it at all. The Lockheed ones are fitted at an angle on two plains. This one has a bleed nipple which would assist...

If I remember correctly the feed to everything comes off the start solenoid. Check the spade connection for Voltage
Re: Paint.
Found out. CarPlan is White 24. No longer available. Also the original colour I sprayed the car was Leland white 03.
An old English white. No longer available in cellulose. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: MX5 Minor on Ebay
Just been reading this for the first time. That’s a beautiful car whatever you want to call it. Did it sell ?
Paint.
Hi all, some years back I bought a couple of tins of carPlan spray pain off someone on this forum. It was a very good match for my Old English White car. I need some more to spray a wing. I’ve just bought 1Lt of WT03 off eBay described as Leland OEW but it’s not. Nobody in my town is mixing paint du...
Re: Tool hire
Thanks Phil. Agree with all you have said however funds are limited at the moment so quick fix it is. Having hot done anything to the engine I’m replacing I thought I’d treat the replacement with new rings and shells. The tool in the link is exactly what I’m after but at £100 for a tool I’ll use onc...
Re: Tool hire
I would respectfully advise that if you need a cylinder bore ridge remover it is time for a re-bore. Phil Hi Phil, The step is not excessive. I have pulled one piston out without damage. However there is a step which I want to remove before fitting new rings. If as you say if there is a step it nee...

Re: Rear wheel bearing help.
At the front - by the gasket/O ring, and at the rear by the seal ! Simples !! Sure the axle isn't overfilled - and is the breather clear ? I know its me, I know that they did it long enough. but thats what in not getting. You have axle oil on one side and bearing oil on the other. Whats the point o...

Re: Rear wheel bearing help.
Because the oil runs into the bearing from the axle - and you don't want it running out again all over the shoes ! Why are you changing the bearing? I've NEVER had to change a rear bearing (or a front come to that) and my Minors had some pretty rough handling... Make SURE you are not using '...

Re: Rear wheel bearing help.
Sorry to hijack the post. Im going to change the wheel bearings on tne saloon this weekend an for the life of me im having trouble getting my head around the rear axle set up. Re: making a van into a campervan?
That is brilliant 8) I love my campers and I love my Minor so I'd say you have the perfect vehicle :D The pop-top looks very similar to that on my Auto-Sleeper, does it operate in a similar fashion. This one, you pull two locking pins out. Push up. The two ends spring up and lock in. The two sides ...

Re: making a van into a campervan?
Looks a neat upgrade. did you build the pop top from scratch or convert an existing one? Those look like Dolomite wheels so presumably you're on a Marina axle with 3 1/4" pcd. Looks good. I was beginning to think this post was dead. So thanks for the interest. The pop top came off a Rapedo mic...
