Re: Renting a garage

this garage is probably under 500 Yds from my door and the space would mean I would have more room to work on Igor. Maybe £500 is worth my enjoyment in the garage over the winter months, rather than wishing I had the space to be out there. It would also put Mona in a more secure and more suitable pl...

Renting a garage

Hi all, I have just been chatting with someone who has a garage coming up for rent soon. it is in a very convenient location for me and is pretty secure (as well as being overlooked by neighbours). It would NOT have power, but I am only thinking of storage. What is a fair price to pay for rent? £10 ...

Re: Wider Wheels and Brake Upgrade

I think that EBC do some modern grooved drums, it would increase maintenance but would help offset the additional heat (with the deglazing theory) from increased friction, although ducking may be an idea. maybe they can offer it as a service thats not in the catalogue, maybe a machine shop with an i...

Re: Wider Wheels and Brake Upgrade

Im not even sure if they are made tbh,I would have thought that they were a reasonably common size. Padgid (as available at euro car parts) are pretty good and boast massive oem fitment I use uprated compounds on my daily (Mk4 Golf) Originally I had 288mm front discs and 254mm rear discs. I now use ...

Re: 1970 Trav "IGOR" (modified) PIC HEAVY! fuel lines in!

Hey Phillip, I have just been putting a thread together on another forum and had forgotten how bad he was! Shame the merc might be going, hopefully the astra will serve you well. I pucked up an EVO 6/8 stock exhaust for a tenner, 2.5", stainless and got a silencer in there, that should cover mo...

Re: Wider Wheels and Brake Upgrade

In the meantime, it might be worth investigating alternative friction componds, there are plenty of brands, Ferodo, Padgid Mintex etc.
These may help until you can get funds together

Re: 1.4 Zetec Project

Looking good, that water pipe shouldnt be too much of an issue, use the gasket as a template to make a plate and then just figure out where you want the pipe pointing. Its a shame that ther is so much in the shank of that in tank pump, I thought that they would have been easy to trim down :( Good id...

Re: Trials of a new loom, and wonderment

Nah, Ive had a quick look and cant figure it out from the listings, from memory, mine was from Bull motif I remember specifying that I had the flashing side and tails when I ordered.
I noticed while I was on their site, that they offer looms with additional circuits in them, like alternator etc

Re: Trials of a new loom, and wonderment

Hi Fin, You are correct, that loom is not correct for your spec. Mona is actually the mirror of what you have. She is a 63 4 door so should be one of the first cars with orange indicators (I think) but there was a change over period where they used flashing side and tails like you have. In the end I...

Re: Burnt out Minor

Shame to hear about the Minor, seems like quite a number of historic buildings have been damaged beyond repair too :(. A guy on a motorcycle forum I'm a member of, had a bike that he'd paid for but not yet collected (or insured), looted from the dealership. Surely in this scenario it would be in th...
