Re: Traveller timber

Whilst I don't recommend using it on traveller wood, previous post makes wonder what baby oil is made of?

Re: Faulty Parts - Advise needed

Whilst I guess most people would sympathise with you regarding the costs incurred by you having to correct things on your car after fitting sub standard items, I suggest that you cant expect to get the compensation you are looking for. The way I would suggest you go to get any compensation would be ...

Re: Another TV company at it.

I am a bit confused. I own a morris minor and have been known to take my morris to a show, encouraging people to look at it and to show off, if you like, the work put into it. I take it as a matter of pride to see people admiring it. It cost me money to get to and from the venue the show would most ...

Re: Sticky trafficator

I have 59 saloon with trafficators and feel VERY uncomfortable relying on them to indicate my intentions to other road users. There is no doubt that if you were indicating using them you may very well be in the right but that would be of little consolation to the family you leave behind. I always as...

Vacuum advance.

Time to consult the oracles. The vacuum advance on my new to me 1959 saloon has ceased to function. Upon blowing in the carb end there is no movement in the dizzy end and a continuous flow of puff. Whats the chances of the problem being the diaphragm over the tube and whats the best way to check the...

Bye Bye MEA.

MEA has gone to a new home with a nice couple from Bucks who have promised to cherish her.. Forgive me for anthropomorphising but it must be said that, whilst she gave me not a jot of trouble before deciding to part with her, she gave me loads in the days before she went. Anyhoo. Please keep an eye ...

Any engine enthusiasts in swansea?

I have recently put my MEA on ebay and was confidently predicting an easy sale. It went up to £2800 with 2 days to go and, after yonks of trouble free motoring, the head gasket went whilst i was on the motorway. Sods law. ANYWAY. I have a lady who was very interested in buying it. I phoned her with ...

it might have looked ghastly up until recently but looking at the photos on the other thread, Igor is well on the road to less ghastlyness. Keep up the good work Ash.

Re: Car lighter socket

I too was very much against putting holes in the dashboard but found the the area on the underneath of the dash at the very end on the rhs is just big enough for a cigarette lighter, it faces downward and is out of sight.

Thanks for that ash but the one i am thinking of had pix of the wooden frame being removed and a new one assembled and then fitted. It clearly showed round steel bar being used to keep things 'straight'

Re: How do you hold your meetings

I have been involved in quite a lot of committee work and, seeing as you ask for input, i will put in my experience. Most clubs work on a traditional basis, with a comittee with office holders (chairman, secretary, treasurer etc) and when to hold comittee meetings as opposed to club meetings is reall...

Traveller rebuild

I was reading the new posts in the last 3 or 4 months and there was a great posting from a member rebuilding / renovating a traveller. It had some excellent pictures of the back coming off and showing some signficant 'strutting' of the whole inside using what looked like steel bar in the back of the...

C B Radio, that brings back memories. I still come out with some of the language to this day. When i say to my son 'do a flip flop on the dougnut at the magic roundabout, go square wheeled and i will tell you my twenty' he looks at me a bit funny. :D
