Re: ETHANOL CHANGES
King Kenny, in France (for 29 years now) we use 98E5 when 95 isn't available, never E10 as there is a risk to your fuel system, you may have problems long-term, one fill is unlikely to do any harm. We use two 1098 Minors as everyday cars. The fuel consumption using 98 is at least 40mpg, more on long...

Re: How many tools is enough?
simple answer you can't have too many tools it's a man thing !! as a simple creature a box of spanners = happy therefore problem solved Disagree, sorry, but only on the grounds that it is not a 'man' thing! I enjoy sewing and cooking as well as moggying, and I have more kitchen and sewing bits and ...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020
With Admin's agreement I'm posting to say that if anyone needs assistance with the cancellation or re-arranging of a holiday booking in France (holiday cottage or B&B or other) I'm happy to help. I can't promise a magic solution, but I am involved professionally with the tourist industry here and ha...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020
You two Mikes are going round in circles, it seems to me! In simple terms if your ferry is running to schedule but you choose not to sail the usual terms and conditions which you signed up for apply, yes? None of us know yet when you 'furriners' will be allowed to set wheel and foot down in France f...

Re: STAYHOME RALLY PLAQUE
Des911, I think that's a personal choice. Many of us think it is fun to have such a plaque, and we do need fun just now! Those who don't want a plaque can give the same amount of money (or more) to a charity of their choice, if they wish. Non-nhs charities from hospices to animal shelters and everyt...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020
Having had ferries cancelled by DFDS due to storms on the Dieppe crossing I can only say they were super-helpful on the phone about either switching to Calais, or rebooking at a later date, or an immediate refund on our debit card. On the DFDS website late May crossings are still on sale and not can...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020
Hello All It was to be our first MoT but not to be. We are pleased that the plan is to hold 2020 in 2021 and have asked that our registration/booking is rolled over. Like others we are waiting for Brittany Ferries to tell us we can't go and will ask for a cash refund. Here's to a better year next y...

Thank you, Directors, for your clear and informative statement.
It is no easy task to organise and reorganise big events when none of us know when this crisis will end.

Re: Spotted today.
Have just spent a week in Milton Keynes area, didn't see any Minors whatsoever (except ours, which we drove 600 miles to get there and 600 miles home).

Re: Coronavirus Update:
I was at the NEC yesterday, for Crufts. There was a lot of pre-show publicity about major sponsors telling their staff not to go but that didn't seem to affect the event at all. It looked as if a small number of trade stands had decided not to come and some competitors had pulled out but it was very...

Re: Period handbook
As it's wet and cool here your posts prompted me to do a bit of ebaying which I haven't done for ages, and with good results: two French language Morris Minor brochures which we haven't seen before purchased for our Club archives. Ianmack, if you want to note these down we have copies of: Operation ...

Re: LED bulbs anyone?
OH has today fitted LEDs in my trav, bought on Amazon.fr for driving in France.
Boy are they BRIGHT in the garage! Haven't yet tested them night-time as it was still daylight when I came home.
Will get the alignment checked at our friendly local testing station and then report back.
