Classic headlamp chrome rim identity?

Hi,  A work colleague has asked me to confirm if this (NOS) headlamp rim is for a Triumph Herald. I said I didn't think so but would take it home to compare against mine.  Needless to say I am now sure it isn't, my 1200's is much deeper, slightly squarer in appearance and the screw is on the inside...

1967 Morris Minor restoration to complete on eBay

Hi, Nothing to do with me but I was browsing eBay adverts and spotted this 4 door in almond green, which the owner has partially restored up to the point where the bodyshell is painted and most things are done, apart from a couple of bits of welding and painting the doors, bonnet and boot lid. He s...

Re: Armstrong Factory Film 1954

Excellent. Great to see a piece of our manufacturing heritage recorded on film, from a time when we were a manufacturing nation that made things which were sold around the world. Wonderful drive past at the start, showcasing allot of British cars in everyday use, that are now regarded as classics, ...

Re: Radiator cap - slight variations

Hi Ormin,
If you have a high top (Series 2 type) rad then you will need the long reach cap, that is what I was told when I bought my first splitscreen and it is something I've stuck to ever since.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Parts for sale

Would like all to go as job lot Hi, People will want to know a price for the 'job lot' and a rough idea of what you want for individual items. You wouldn't have to list them all, just a random selection plus some of the bigger items like an engine and a gearbox. Also, as requested above, potential ...

Re: Cruising Speeds 1098cc Motorways etc

BMC really should have used the 3.9 diff for the new Motorway age. For motorway work I completely agree with you. But how does this ratio (3.9) affect pulling away from road junctions in real terms? Allot or not allot? Otherwise I agree with the sentiment that it is whatever you feel comfortable wi...

Contacts at the DVLA

Hi, Does anyone on here have a 'Human' contact at the DVLA? They have sent me two vehicle tax reminders, both for the same car, Sally my 1954 Morris Minor. I'm left wondering if they meant to send me one for a different car or whether it's a simple computer glitch? However, I'd rather sort it out b...

As an aside, I love that garage, with those big old wood doors, made for a classic car.

old style pictures

Hi, I went to this years rally at Chateau Impney, thoroughly enjoyed it and, as a bonus, got the chance to sit in a certain very old Minor lowlight. So I aged the pictures to suit, what do you think? Old photo 1.jpg Old photo 2.jpg I also wondered if others have "period" images of their c...
