Re: Morris with VIN but no Reg??

Pm the vin and body numbers to Pommreg on this forum he will check his record of stolen vehicles for you...but it does sound really dodgy...why would you loose the Reg Plates or not have any record of what it was???? Very little chance of finding the original number unless previous owner has left bu...

Re: Front brake shoe steady springs.

I would go by the Morris parts list not the Moss catalogue

If your plates dont have holes in then no need to fit them....

But as yours do...then I would...

The part numbers Phil gives are the same in the parts list.....

Re: Front brake shoe steady springs.

Shown in the parts list so if your backplate has holes I would ignore above and fit them....

as before:-

Re: Front brake shoe steady springs.

Yes you should have steady pins retaining cups and springs 2 per side at the front

Beehives at the rear two per side..Not sure if the series 5 had them if there are holes in the backplates for the pins then I would fit them....

Page MK 5 in the parts list

Re: Holes in bulkhead

My Travellers have the solid bronze sound blanket fixings pt no AAA2081 fitted there - of which there are 13 fitted... these are split 4 ways not bifurcated....

The bifurcated ones with washers are fitted lower down for the parcel shelf and are part no BRP1108 I think.

Re: Earth strap positions?

The earth strap from the gearbox to the chassis is a standard and necessary fitment. The one Phil shows from the engine is not. As he says however, it does no harm to have another. Yes agree with you many minors...... and extra fitment straps like Phils are a good idea too... All of mine hav...

Re: PCD? Ofset? what do they really mean?

The PCD is the distance between the wheel studs. The PCD of a Morris Minor is 4". Above needs clarifying.... PCD is Pitch Circle Diameter so it is the diameter of a circle that goes through the centre of each stud. This is clear from the diagram in the link provided in Philthehills post If you meas...
