Re: Frank Spencer
He's riding a bike on the roof of the Minor. Here's a publicity photo which appeared in The Daily Telegraph last week. The car is identical to the one used in the famous "car over the cliff" episode, ie a light blue (smoke grey) early 1000 (948cc) 4 door with trafficators.[frame] http://mm...

Re: Go with noakes
I have to say, being an avid viewer of Rentaghost in its final years from about '81-'84, I don't ever remember seeing any Morris Minors at all - and trust me, I would remember! I do remember Mrs Meaker having a red Triumph Herald which was magically shrunk in size to a toy, found by the nextdoor nei...

Re: Where's the best place to find a moggy to buy?
If you've joined the club, Minor Matters should be a good bet as, hopefully, the cars listed in there belong to real enthusiasts who have looked after their cars and want them to go to good homes.

A Smoke Grey 2-door saloon, circa '62, driving through Tolworth towards Surbiton at about 10.15 this morning. Was unfortunately in the modern Fiat 500 so couldn't wave!

Re: Go with noakes
I have very vivid memories of watching the repeats of "Go With Noakes" in the early eighties when the show was re-named "Back With Noakes". I think that information in Minor Matters about the car being named Molly is actually incorrect, as I always remembered the car being called...

Re: Exhaust Burbling/Farting
I'm definitely up for the farting competition with Bluebell! Her current farty exhaust has a bit of a potted history. When I first bought her, the mild steel exhaust did fart but not as loudly as the one on my 2-door. I swapped them over before selling the saloon but then disaster struck - a van dro...

Re: Minor convertible
Vinyl hoods are much, much easier to keep clean. My convertible had a cream double duck hood fitted when I bought it; and even though it had hardly been used, all the dirt showed up and it did look quite scruffy. I have since fitted a cream everflex vinyl hood which looks a lot better, and obviously...

Re: Drive Your Classic To Work Week
I saw four classics on the commute yesterday, and three today. VERY rarely see any classics on the commute to work so I reckon it must have had something to do the the Classic Car Weekly "Drive Your Classic To Work Week". So far I've seen two Fiat 500s (one Arbath), a '50s Volvo PV444, one...

Re: Drive Your Classic To Work Week
Yes, I see your point! I suppose any event like this which encourages the cars that don't get used every day to come out onto the roads can only be a good thing. It promotes the use of the cars and hopefully might inspire others to buy one. And with the on-going debate about getting more "young...

Yes she is. Registered in Bournemouth in 1961, and lived in the Bournemouth & Poole area for most of her life. She resides in Surbiton now. I shall look out for your Traveller too.
