Re: Dating body numbers
Thanks John I’ve looked at that info before, it’s a fantastic site full of info. I’ve never seen a list of body numbers with the dates they were coming through the factory though. I wonder if such a thing even exists. I suppose a heritage certificate is the way forward really as that will give me wh...

Dating body numbers
Hi all,
Does anyone have any information on how to date the body number of an MM? I’m interested to see how the body number dates in relationship to the registration date.
I have done a few searches but haven’t found much out.
Thanks
Tommy

Re: hello & a key issue
Thanks for the reply. I’m now thinking a new set of the three locks to match is the way forward. Once I have them in and know the new key number I will try and buy an NOS original style key off ebay instead of the modern shiny one. I’m weird where things like that matter to me!

Re: High level LED brake light instead of reflector.
Thanks, that’s the type of thing.
I know what you are saying with regard to effectiveness, but my logic is something will be far more noticeable than nothing so it’s worth doing. My reflectors are missing and knackered in the two cars.

Re: High level LED brake light instead of reflector.
I already have extra reflectors on the back end as do a lot of MMs.
Also, nothing to stop the plastic lense still acting as a reflector.

High level LED brake light instead of reflector.
Hi all, I know this has already been done, so if I can piggy back on others experience to save me the R and D that would be great! I'm wanting to fit an LED light in place of the reflectors on my MM and Series II and use it as a high level brake light. I did a search on this forum and found this bro...

Re: hello & a key issue
Has anyone managed to change the barrels in the door and boot locks to match the ignition barrel? On my lowlight I’ve got the original key for the ignition, and replacements for the door and boot, both different. I’d love to return them to all be the same key number.

Re: Advice needed on how to decide on modified morris minors.
A good question. My personal take is that the modified section should really be aimed at obvious major modifications like roof chops, range rover V8s etc. The reality of the rest of the classes is that most will have a mod or two so I say just park them up as they should be. My series II looks stand...

Re: modern ish cars on e10 fuel
I’ve noticed our modern car a 2015 Skoda Octavia is noticeably down on economy and was almost overnight when starting on E10. Used to touch 55mpg on a run and now I can’t get above about 48 mpg. Surly the whole concept of the fuel can’t be eco if we all burn through more of it, or is watering it dow...

Re: car not running as it should
It does sound like the coil failing to me, but then I must be wrong as it's NEVER the coil! Possible condenser, but money is on the coil. I had a similar one once, developing a misfire when warm and mending itself when cold. The only thing I tried was changing the coil for a spare and it was f...

Yes, and also the HT lead terminals in the dizzy cap. The hose is for the vacum gauge.

Re: Modified steering wheel
I have two different types of MM steering wheel hanging up in the garage, is this what you mean? One type has a slight dome on top of the three stubs at the boss, the other is very flat (the earlier type I believe). They seem to have slightly different casting/strengthening ridges inside the boss al...

Why? Unnecessary weight, "it's never the coil".......bmcecosse wrote:Ahh - but to prove that, you should always carry a spare coil in the car. I do.
