Re: Something missing.....??

I highly doubt that it would fail an MOT for missing the brackets, the chances of the MOT tester knowing that they should be there and noticing that they are not is quite slim, the brackets are there I believe to prevent scuttle shake from the now weakened dash and windscreen surround. Tbh I would s...

Re: I have read the stickies... but what colour is our Morris?

I would say that it is or was once Sage Green, not sure of the colour code, but our 1957 Convertible is sage and has been since new, the colour is basically what your wings are, the main body however is rather faded but sage does seem to go rather yellow as it ages!

Re: Fuel pump

Thanks for the replies, I shall have a look tomorrow, When I fitted the new points I was careful to count the number of rotations as I unscrewed the old points off in order to hopefully not cause an issue, but It maybe that my counting wasn't accurate  I'll check and report back tomorrow, chee...

Fuel pump

Been trying to get my 57 convertible running in time to get it to the national, but unfortunately I'm struggling to get the fuel pump to work, originally the points would not go at all so I've put a new set of points on and now the pump issues one click as the ignition is switched on and then nothin...

Idle

Having got my 57 convertible going I have noticed that the engine is a hell of a lot quieter and smoother than my 61 which has a 1098cc fitted. I know the 948cc is meant to be a smoother engine but I've got a video of the 1098cc anyway and I've noticed (hard to tell in video) that every now and then...

Re: Vertically challenged Traveller drivers!

You can get rubber blocks that fit onto the back legs of the seat, which will raise and tilt the seat, not sure if they do work because I don't have them myself, although i'm sure someone on here has them fitted who can tell you. http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2017&...

Re: Floor seat belt stalk mountings

They were fitted when I bought the car but they are the off the shelf jobbies from all the suppliers. As for the inertia reels- It doesn't have them! its got statics, but I do have an inertia reel set to fit which has the same seat belt stalks. Ill take pictures of how the statics mount anyway later...

I always though red looked rather tacky, Cream would be my choice, breaks up the black abit. Depends how non-standard you want it to look.

Re: V5 logbooks don't show full number of previous owners

Its nice to know, although both of my cars had long standing original owners, Saloon had her first owner 1961-2000 and convertible had her first owner 1957-2012.

Re: cutting out

Check the piston in the carb rises and then drops freely and is not sticking- Mine did this and it was the cause of cutting out at junctions when the clutch was pressed. :D

Re: put 1pound 50 worth of dieseil in my car

Someone once said that a bit of diesel mixed with the petrol once in a while actually did the engine some good, giving it a sort of de-coke, whether that is true or not I dunno.

Re: NEC 2013

Except for the £10 Parking charge it was pretty decent overall, although it seemed to me to be more crammed in this year, that or there was just more people. The Morris stands were good too, although it does seem to be the same sort of cars each year or is it just me?
