Re: MOT history from VOSA site.
I did this with the Rover when the seller said there were no advisories but the certificate said otherwise. Did it with Agatha too, and turns out 4 fails in 6 years which is a little troubling....

Re: Confused - Petrol??!
I have never bothered with additives. It takes many miles of hard driving before you will find serious effects. After 20k miles, the money you save would easily buy another head and its not too hard to replace either. I do have a head in the garage that I paid to have converted and I'll fit it whene...

Quick thought, there have been lots of suggestions about the points being grubby - if the earth is a bit flakey, could that be it?

Re: Re Article in March / April edition: Unsafe sex?
I've read before that the number of accidents between the genders are roughly comparible but that men tend to have bigger, more expensive shunts. Women tend to have smaller, less costly accidents (Including more of the type that get settled without the involvment of insurance) Basicly, both genders ...

There's an interesting thought. I don't think theres likely to be a vacuum considering the state of the filler cap.

You mentioned that you were changing your choice of wheels?
I bought these for the old trav, but never got round to doing the work to fit them. Dont know if they are of any interest at all?

Hi Katie.
Welcome to the forum. Just to cover a little bit of admin - there's a new members FAQ at the top of this section, if you've not done so already, give it a read - its full of useful info.
So, tell us a bit more about yourself and some info about the car!!

Re: Fuel pump isolator warning
My switch is hidden. essentially speaking what I did was pull that part of the wiring loom back into the car, strip the fuel pump live feed out of it, as far back as needed to reach the relevant switch. I then ran another wire (same colour) from the switch to the fuel pump and wound it all back into...

Re: Fuel pump isolator warning
You would need to use a lamp that was isolated from the speedo - like the Ign bulb holder, or one of the oil warning lights - and connect that across the switch. It will then glow when the switch is OFF, and the Ign ON. You could do the same with a buzzer - but that may attract the attention of the...

Re: Iffy looking Electrics... What do you think?
Personally, I would chalk the wiring up as a "to do, fairly shortly" on that car. Its obviously not perfect but I wouldn't have thought from the photo's that it will cause a fire as is. Do keep a very close eye on it though and replace anything you feel concerned by (and theres no harm in adding add...
