According to a period brochure (and my car) the series II deluxe had as standard a heater, leather seat facings (not two tone on series II), overiders and passenger sunvisor.

Re: HELP! MASSIVE OIL LEAK!
Sounds like the old sealing ring may still be squashed up inside the housing. It can be difficult to see so it might have appeared that there wasn't one there. Fitting a new one over the top will almost certainly cause a leak. It sometimes takes quite a bit of removing but any sharp pointy thing doe...

Re: is dot4 synthetic compatible?
DOT5 silicon is definitely NOT compatible with DOT4! Where do you get that from? It says on the bottle that DOT5 silicone can be mixed with DOT4 and I've done it with no problems whatsoever. Just poor a little of each into a glass jar and see! Give it a shake! What exactly does it say on the bottle...

Re: Window rubbers/seals
The front, rear, quarter light and side windows have shaped seals and are available from all the usual sources. You could buy the profile and make your own front and rears, but I don't think you would save much. The door glass had felt originally and you can replace with that or a modern coated rubb...

But yes it is ok to mix the Carlube DOT4 with the Shell DOT4. No need for mineral based fluid.

Re: Ignition says No
It's easy to swap your barrel into a new (lots of good used on ebay) switch so that you can keep the same key! Assuming that you only have the one key for ignition, door and boot.

Don't wait until they decide to use the seats and carpets to shred for their nests! Time for traps and repellers. Wiring looms are another favourite "food". As for getting in the car, virtually impossible to prevent!

Re: Traveller rear doors
Difficult to tell from the picture (matt black doesn't help) but the gaps look pretty even. ....Ohhh! Now I see what you mean! The doors won't close! My friend's car has the same problem you have to overlap the doors and push pretty hard to get them to close. Hmmm. They look pretty tight on t...

You can get a self cancelling three position switch like on the MGA. You can adjust the length of time to cancel too.

That ebay kit will not work! To use that kind of plating the parts need to be perfect before you start! Would be interesting for you to have a try and prove me wrong though! I for one would love to see the results!

Send it to the professionals. Most plating can be done at home, but chromium plating is especially toxic. Google chrome plating.

Re: paint - professional or DIY spraying?
Thanks for your reply what is 2k paint? This is going to be a long journey.... 2k is short for "two pack" or two component paint, meaning that a hardener is required to be mixed with the paint in order for it to dry (or cure). Thinners is still required. 2k paint is more harmful to health...

Re: What Cani do about blistered and pitted chrome
If it's blistered and pitted it might still polish up and look ok, but if it's too bad then it needs to be rechromed or replaced. Note that replacement is MUCH cheaper than rechroming, but you are still talking of more than £500. Unfortunately not all the replacement chrome is that good so you need ...
