Re: boot rack
Thanks for that, in the end I bought one from ESM that is universal and clips on the sides of the boot. For the uninitiated the stud bolts need shortening before fitting. Anyway its fitted and now I am getting leather straps to hold down the picnic basket. It should look period, which is what I want...

Re: What did Morris get wrong originally?
Indeed, the first huge marketing clanger was to call it Leyland in the first place. Leyland were truck builders, very good truck builders, but thats not an epithet you want attached to your shiny new saloon is it ? With reference to cost cutting through standardisation, Lucas begged all the British ...

Re: What did Morris get wrong originally?
In my opinion they didnt really get too much wrong, given the conditions they were asked to work in. The government of the day however have a lot to answer for. To instruct Austin, led by Leonard "ill tear that bloody place apart brick by brick" Lord, who hated Morris with a passion, to merge fully ...

Re: Dash cam and reversing cam
I have a combined unit in my daily Honda.
As long as you have a negative earth on the Morris I wouldnt have thought you would have any problems.
The stickers alone displayed in my car act like magic, pushing oncoming tail gaiters well back.
Mine is a nextbase duo hd.
No problems so far.

Re: Best type of garage door
I have an old metal up and over.
Hendersons of Durham built it in the 60s.
It has come off the runners a couple of times until I modified it with stop bolts, I would prefer the old wooden left and right opening doors given the choice.

At 2 mins 8 seconds to the right I spied an MGA rear end white?
But the one you spotted is a minor convertible I think.

Re: It's the rules,mate.
Our binmen are extremely adept at leaving the bin smack bang in the middle of the drive, that way I always get some exercise, usually in the rain, leaping from the car to put it to one side while I park the motor.
I believe its part of their training.

Defensive driving, just let em go.
Preferably just as you reach the speed cameras, timing is everything.

Re: making a morris engine
I do have an excellent book about "the man who really made the mini" Leonard Lord, he is apparently the father of a lot of automation within BMC building his own multi spindle machines. It was he who dispatched our brightest and best after the war as part of the Marshall plan to rebuild Japan. Shoul...

Re: Stolen EBAY UK
I would add a little something here.
Thieves get away with it in many (not all) cases, because of poor security measures.
No Diskloks, no etched windows, no secret switch etc
Put them of nicking it in the first place and they will leave it alone and we dont need a database quite so critically.

Re: ..and I thought all Morris Minor drivers were nice chaps
My dad owned a morris minor in 1963
He was banned for drink driving in 2003
When he owned a rover
Statistically he still counts.
Good ol' daily m.
Usual load of horse manure.

Re: Hello from north London!
My feeling is a cut off switch is a great idea. But I think he may have destroyed my drivers side door lock first to find it. Visually a disklok says this aint going to be easy chum, and he will walk away, couple that with etched windows and the cars value to the tea leaf plummets, visual prevention ...
