Re: POSTING A PHOTO

I’m no expert, I use a laptop running windows 7 that comes with Windows Live Photo Gallery which I use to open my photos. It gives the option to resize and save photos, this keeps the original untouched and saves the resized version with the size marked in brackets. Choose Small or Smaller. I use t...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

The root of the proble Mike is that not everyone understands (or needs to) how a web page loads, you have gone to great lengths to explain it as if everyone knows. If you had explained it in laymans terms you may have got your point across. Just my twopenneth worth. Jesus wept :D . I get moaned at ...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

There's another good example of waste - my large sig file is displaying after every other post on this page, when really we only need any of our sig files once per page. That's something I'll change when the opportunity arises, and everyone's file will only show for the first time they post on each ...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

A year or so back there was some change in the company that supply the service, I didn't pay much attention to it but remember it caused issues, I think it had to do with the loss of historic postings etc. That was quite a bit longer than a year, but yes, I know what you're talking about. What had ...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

What specific "recent developments" are you talking about, Les? The reduction in file size? I've clearly explained what the purpose is, and to be honest I would really expect that you recognise that it is for everyone's benefit. Something other than the file size reduction? What, exactly? We're drif...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

The change is necessary, for everyone's benefit, as I took the trouble to explain to you earlier. Your understanding of the needs of the board beyond just yourselves would be appreciated.

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

For Les mainly but also anyone else interested, there's no need to fork out beer token for something to handle this. There are a variety of free programs that can handle the job - this one gets a good rating on the freeware sites http://www.balesio.com/fileminimizerpictures/eng/download.php . This s...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

Admin Thank you for the update and input. I have to say that the information in the update plus any relevant information should have been posted right at the beginning of the previous deleted thread and not now. It would have eliminated any misconceptions and misunderstandings if there were any. I ...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

Admin As regards the removal of the posts/thread. I would not consider the thread to be unconstructive or unhelpful. It to me was a conversation of the process that needed to be aired and worked through and could be referred back too. Anyway thankfully I have managed to work it out for myself. Adva...

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

Hi Brian
To be honest, it doesn't overly matter, but there's a thread for it in the 'off topic' forum. File dimensions 860 px wide maximum by 265 px height maximum. Any problems at all, drop me a PM :)

Re: POSTING A PHOTO

There are many tutorials available online on how to resize and compress images. I did attempt to explain the process for people not familiar with it, but unfortunately that did not work: either the explanation was too complex, or the reader wasn't able to understand it, or some combination of the tw...

Images in Signature

I've just seen some more posts about difficulties adding images to your signatures, so here is what I hope is a definitive set of instructions. They should be relatively simple to follow, and will definitely work if followed correctly ! Navigate to your Signature settings page. Click ' Private Messa...

Re: 2018 Minors on Tour France.

Horses for courses I guess, but even when I'm driving in company with quicker Minors I don't find the autoroutes that beneficial. A Minors fuel tank is such that you can't usually carry sufficient for your complete journey, so you have to refuel at the Aires because by the time you've come off the a...
