Re: STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE MMOC ON THE COVID-19/CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

No, that's not how it works. It is wholly unrealistic for the club to moderate that field and ensure that the answer provided is correct. Apart from the fact that many thousands of usernames on the forum are not peoples real names rendering it impossible for a moderator to correlate forum members to...

Re: STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE MMOC ON THE COVID-19/CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

It's not necessarily safe to assume that a 'No' in the MMOC member field means that someone isn't a paid up member of the club, as the 'default' indicator is No and only a percentage of people actively choose to change it. It would be safer to assume that everyone who has chosen to change the indica...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

Just as an update to this conversation that may be of use in negotiations with Brittany Ferries and/or DFDS, I have had a further reply from them today in respect of my refusal to accept a time-limited voucher. I told them I really wanted my money back and I was sure that a small claim court would a...

Really disappointed that mine didn't arrive in time to go on the car today - I took the Traveller to Morrisons for my weekly shop!

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

That's pretty much word for word what's written in the DFDS terms and conditions - I think they've both quoted from the EU directive on it. DFDS are maintaining that a time and condition limited voucher is as far as they are going, and just ignore the paragraph where my email points to that conditio...

Re: STAYHOME RALLY PLAQUE

It would be interesting to know how much is going to Charity, I've seen some that state "100% OF PROFITS FROM EACH SALE WILL BE DONATED TO NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER | COVID-19 APPEAL" and only 1p goes to charity. When they take in to account postage, VAT, and running costs to leave a small profit woul...

STAYHOME RALLY PLAQUE

stayhomerally.jpg https://shop.dragonflyrally.co.uk/NHS-Charity-Fundraising-Rally-Plate I found this available online and I honestly think we should ALL have one ready for when our cars are allowed out again so I've put it here for you all to purchase if you're of similar mind. PLEASE though let's ...

Yeah, me too. This is the gift that just keeps on giving - I've lost count of how many times this subject has ended in acrimony and complaints. Fair warning then - the next time I get flagged on this subject, I'm going to add Adderley Park to the banned words filter.

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

Having had ferries cancelled by DFDS due to storms on the Dieppe crossing I can only say they were super-helpful on the phone about either switching to Calais, or rebooking at a later date, or an immediate refund on our debit card. On the DFDS website late May crossings are still on sale and not ca...

Re: Coronavirus - classic delivery OK?

It doesn't seem unreasonable to believe that using your Minor for an essential journey is at least as sensible as using a modern - if your Minor should let you down then you have half a shot at resolving the issue without recourse to the AA, while in the modern all you can do is call for a tow truck...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

From a purely personal viewpoint, I would not entertain a 'voucher' of any type in exchange for my ferry booking irrespective of my firm commitment to come on MOT21. I'm with DFDS rather than Brittany but the same principle applies - if the ferry company do not intend to run my crossing, they owe m...

STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE MMOC ON THE COVID-19/CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

In the light of the rapid and evolving outbreak of the Covid-19/Corona virus in the UK and across Europe, the Directors of the MMOC want to clarify and confirm the position of the club in relation to a number of planned activities scheduled for the spring and early summer of 2020 to ensure we all fo...

DFDS position ref channel crossings and Coronavirus

On Sunday March 15, DFDS released a statement permitting free rebooking with no amendment fees of booked crossings taking place up to 30th April, and I've copied it below for information. Obviously that doesn't currently cover MOT crossings as the cutoff date is before any of us were due to travel, ...

Re: Amber warning beacon

For a few years now, I have been convinced that there must be an increasing number of people who wake up in the morning and think to themselves ''now what can I be offended or upset about today?.....Mmmm? I don't know yet, but I'll think of something'' . Please tell me I'm not the only one. Oh no b...
