Re: Nutrition information.

Since heart surgery I watch the ingredients. Quorn is good and versatile and has the added bonus of much increased flatulence. Makes one sound more like a Morris Minor on occasion.

Re: 1966 Traveller

Hoses off, core plugs out and blast the block waterways out. I once blew out a coreplug due to blockages. Once I'd blasted out all the silt, rust and gubbins the block it ran cooler for years. The sudden eruption is likely somewhat of a steamhammer effect

The lovely blue Minor hotrod is the Slaters' Cosworth 4x4. A lovely thing indeed.

This is what had, mounting position is ideal and quarter light does not create an issue.

Agreed, the window frame 'clip-on' style looks so much more period (and is more use in my experience)

Re: morris commercial mra 1 truck

I also worked for the REME in the late 80s and remember the old 6x6 Scammells - wonderful beasts. We also had a 1951 Commer Tels Truck with just 3600 miles on it. It had done more miles on ships than its wheels

Re: Driving to Scotland - Any Tips?

Changing down from second to first on the hairpins must have presented a bit of a challenge!
That's where years of practice 'heel and toeing' came in. Change early and carry the revs. As long as you don't come to a standstill it'll climb anything. (Apart from the bank at Robin Hoods Bay)

Re: Driving to Scotland - Any Tips?

I've done the Lakeland passes in a 948cc Minor and it's challenging, even with a low ratio SII dif. Very steep climb, a lot of first gear and vital to avoid missed gear changes. Avoiding cooked brakes on the way down is even more difficult. I was glad of a spare set as they glazed to hell!
