Re: Slow wipers.

AndrewT, worst job is getting the fiddly wee bolts out that hold the motor in under the dash. To do it you also will need to undo the wiper wheel boxes as the motor is well tucked up below the screen. Once it out its a handy enough job on the bench to dismantle it all and clean up and refresh the gr...

Re: New Purchase!!

Thanks! I wasn't expecting that photo to work as I've been having issues loading them lately. Stevey showed me a different way to reduce them and seems to work! So purchased unseen last week, though viewed by a friend Geoffrey and delivered by him on Tuesday. Has since had all the seats pulled out a...

Re: Slow wipers.

Sometimes the old grease in the wiper motor can become hard with age and slow up your wipers. Its not a huge job to open this up and clean out the old stuff, Ive seen it become like old brown icing!! With the wiper arms off the rack can also be pulled out and cleaned and re greased. It made a huge d...

Re: splitscreen fitting

Check out page 10 of Steveys restoration, Ive fitted several this way using an old cut down pillar to make the 2 glasses into one then fit the rubber to the glass and then fit from inside the car pulling the string outside. http://www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=40334&hilit=1954+se...

Re: New Dynamo, new Voltage Regulator, still not charging

I had a new old stock regulator and it would not close to complete the circuit, there was a very fine film of dirt or rust on the points and once cleaned with very fine paper it started to charge. I had another new one and it had some sort of oily stuff on these contacts, again once clened it starte...

Re: Just been in a crash

I was hit in in the black minor in stationery traffic years ago by a brand new mondeo estate. The noise it made was incredible. His bumper was off, sump guards off and bonnet popped, my ds over rider was bent over! Another bump in the series 11 traveller this time, a new polo hit me, again big noise...

Re: New member and "Anybody know this car"

Welcome Ian! Im also an Austin 10 owner, a 1936 sherborne. I quite agree with the 40mph limit, I went to Llandudno in it last year covering around 400 miles in a weekend, the car did me proud with the only problem being a choke cable which fell apart! A traveller is a great choice. Ive had a couple ...

Re: Help required on electrics

Heres a pic from Stevies car resto, Im fairly certain they slide in bedind the starter and choke before you tighten them up.

As Palacebear says, red light is the main beam warning light and green shines down above your key.

Re: Clarence 2 door 62 saloon

Retosaga is James from Comber in County Down. We got in touch via this forum as he had another PZ registered car the only a few numbers away from Stevies! It was a great resto as well.

edit,
I found James resto on the forum.
