Re: holes in rim

I can see why you suspect a factory procedure, as the holes look remarkably equal in position from the rim edge but as mentioned not sure how you’d find the reason, even if that was the case. You never know though !

Incidentally I made a steering wheel once, duralumin spokes and wooden rim turned on faceplate. Lost when my Mini wa...

Re: Your thoughts please

Glueing would be a big mistake ! The next preferred tapping size would be 5/16”. A 9/32” tap might be difficult to find, even so may not be big enough.

Re: Van wheels

My van rims have 155s fitted. If you look upon tyres as safety items, stick to a known make, that eliminates cheap.

Re: Door Fit

Yes I think the curve of the door, at the front, gives that impression but the gap there will appear to increase as the door starts to open.

Re: springs again

Well I should imagine if the collective thickness of all the leaves are the same for the new and old, what you suggest makes sense. I don’t know if the springs you bought are actually lcv ones, I’m not sure of the saloon configuration. All you can do is replicate the items in the picture. I don’t kn...
