Re: A new home for Max the Minor

Because of the negative hype over this car, people are reluctant to say otherwise, fearing ridicule. Having owned a couple, I defend it. The estate version is particularly striking, stylish in fact.

Re: Engine Rebuild - resting on sump?

Until this post I hadn’t given it a second thought. A piece of cloth etc underneath will protect paint. Presumably, to avoid lifting, you could ‘roll’ in over onto the sump.

Re: Front brake shoe steady springs.

They can be a fiddle to fit, which is enough to make some folk give up. This may have been the case with a previous owner. These people are about!

Re: A new home for Max the Minor

I’m not sure if the Allegro estate was available as an auto but if it is/was you’d have a great classic, the 1500cc might be auto.

Re: Bojo the Cloan

That’s one channel of oblivion, another, and in my view more likely, is the pollution of the planet, the amount of crap I’ve seen lately, all over the place, like horse sh-t in a farm yard, and young kids doing a lot of it, going by the botttles and sweet wrappers etc, they’re wrecking their own fut...

If you’ve never wondered, out of interest, where your previous vehicles are or if they’re still about, you must have had a curiosity by-pass :D

The problem with the Columbus analogy is that while it worked out for him, in those days plenty of ships sailed off into the blue yonder only to disappear without trace....
I suppose my point is, if you don’t venture into the unknown, you don’t move on.

Re: dead moggy

Fitting gauges to a standard Minor is a personal choice of course, myself I like the simplicity of just the warning lamps. If you’ve got gauges, you always tend to look for trouble. It’s a Morris Minor it’s ok !! :D

You often find they’re the best nights out ! :D Christopher Columbus didn’t know where he was going either, but it worked out in the end.

If you’ve got the chance of a new one, better than used with unknown history. Don’t want any more mishaps!
