Seats from a Rover 45

Hi all,

Has anybody tried to fit the front seats from a Rover 45 to a Minor? Seen a few sets on ebay and am wondering if they are a possibility.

I can't remember now if Marina PCD is 3.75" or 4.5" I suspect 3.75" maybe you could measure it for us? :D Cam, The PCD is as you suspected 3.75'' The tyres on the car are 165/70/13 on the rear and 155 SR 13 on the front. I know this is OK if they are on the same axle, I think the previous owner mus...

13 inch Marina Wheels

My Traveller is currently running on 13 inch Marina 1300 wheels following a disc brake conversion. Does anybody know of a 14 inch steel wheel that will go straight on. Also what difference do 13 inch wheels make to the speedometer reading.

I’ve already booked B&B but it would be good to meet up with some people off this site.

But it's the wheel in the wheelboxes we were talking about - these are under the scuttle with the shaft sticking through for the wiper arm to sit on So I was looking in the entirely wrong place. Still as I seem to have solved the problem with more luck than judgment all is well at the moment...

Took the top off the motor to reveal the gearing and removed the wiper mechanism but could not get the wheel out and was afraid of damaging it. However when I put it all back together the wipers did sit a bit high when off so I removed them and reset in a lower position and all is well as the wiper ...

Wiper Travel Problem

I’ve noticed the drivers side wiper on my Traveller hits the window rubber when it wipes to the upright position but sits perfectly flat when not in use. It has started to mark the window rubber, is there an adjustment I can make to stop the wiper travelling to far?

Thanks :D

Had a look at the DVLA web site and it still says £5.00 fee is payable for a cars owner history so I will send my £5.00 and wait and wait and see what comes back.

The DVLA will give you a list of previous owners and their address. It has cost £5 in the past, however due to DVLA 20% inflation per week* it now probably cost more. I guess you could phone them to check (be prepared to spend 30 minutes fighting with the electronic answering system before pressing...

Traveller history XLL 428G

Hi all, I would like to trace the history of my traveller XLL 428G which I acquired from the Chesterfield area, the previous owner had it 9 years and apparently purchased it from the Derby area. However I think the plate is a London one, does anybody know any history of the car or how I could find o...

Hi Cam,

Yes the needle you recommended seems to have done the job.

Did you get the pictures of the car I sent you ? only the first time I sent them I got a failed delivery report.

Regards,

Fitted the AAM needle today and weakened the mixture as advised by burlens. Did 60 miles today on mix of open road and traffic went like a dream, cutting out problem and running on appear to be cured.

Thanks to everybody for the advice.

But if the only problem is cutting out when slowing down - is the idle speed maybe a bit too slow ? Just for interest - what needle is in the carb as standard ? The needle fitted to the carb originally is an ADG but as the previous owner fitted the carb I have no way of knowing if the needle is tha...

Thanks for the info, the AAM needle CAM advised is on the way from Burlen who said it sounded good to them, so I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks all,

I ran a HS4 on a 1098 with a large bore exhaust and K&N air filter with no problems. It ran great. The needle I used was the AAM. With your larger bore exhaust and HS4 carb, the AAM needle should be pretty close. What air filter are you using? Thanks cam, It's fitted with the standard air filter, d...

Hi all, Back from hols, carb is a HS4 FZX 1189 as fitted to the 1300 marina. Weakened the mixture until plugs are a light brown, still cuts out so turned two flats richer on the mix but still cuts out when lifting off the accelerator and coming to a stop. Met a retired Morris Mechanic on holiday he ...

Thanks everybody, The exhaust is a twin box stainless steel one with a larger bore, so changing all that could get expensive so I think making the existing carb work is a better bet. The fast idle is a cross screw head located at about 10 o'clock looking at the carb from the front of the car if this...

Thanks Cam,

I will have a look in the daylight, but going away early tomorrow so I will have a look when I get back on Saturday. Problem with dumping the marina carb is the exhaust manifold was also changed to suite the carb.

Thanks,

Leafie.

Thanks for all the help

The carb was changed by the previous owner so I don’t know if he changed the needle.

Cam asked Which carb it is? HS4, HIF44?

How do I tell the difference between the two.

Thanks,

Leafie
