Re: 1961 2-door saloon (Sidney)

Hi David, I was only home at christmas for 2 weeks so I didn't get much sorted, I did get a bit of work done on the wiring loom though, I'm planning to build my own from scratch, I now have the plans drawn out with all appropriate wires and lengths ready for me to buy the wire and put it together. I...

Re: My Ongoing Traveller restoration ?

Hiya, I agree with Louise that the car is most likely to be Yukon grey given the year and the pattern of the rear seat but if it was built in 1960 it's possible that it could be Frilford grey which is slightly more blue. Frilford ended on chassis number 847831 Yukon started on 847397 This will tell ...

Re: Historic definition to be redefined in Europe.

So aswell as causing trouble for those in regular use would this not mean that many events such as MOT, MOT-UK, JOGLE would have to be cancelled as these may take up most of if not more than the allowed mileage?

Cool,[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1292893426_6735 [/frame]We'll have to start looking into the stickers and other 'regalia' shortly. There was previous discussion though as to whether this minor should be a 2-door or 4-door, has this been resolved? Personally even though I own 2 2-door...

Re: Project cars

My project's still going slowly, 1961 2-door saloon, I'm restoring it to completely standard. I've resprayed it (original and quite rare Yukon grey) and rebuilt all of the suspension and brakes[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1292864834_6735 [/frame] Over christmas I'm working on building ...

Suitable wire thickness?

What type and thickness of wire is suitable for normal wiring loom use? http://www.autosparks.co.uk/index.php?cPath=89 I've been looking at the options on this site, I assume you just need the thin wall wire but what current? Also, are there any special wires anywhere else on the loom that need to b...

As has been said many times before they are cars made to be driven and used so use them! What's the point in owning a car if it just stays in the garage?

How do you manage to spot so many Nigel? You seem to see them every day! Over a year and a half of driving my minor regularly I can only recall passing/waving to 7 other minors when not going to a specific classic event, I don't know how you find them! :o

The door cards were plain for that era yes but I'm not going to go into any more detail so as not to upset anyone who's bought one as all-in-all it still looks a fantasic model.

Re: Why Minors?

I've always been fascinated with cars and machines (hence im now a mechanical engineering student) so from a very young age dreamed of having my own car that I could pull apart and rebuild, I don't know why I ended up falling in love with the minor in particular but it's possibly because my grandad ...
