I notice that Austin 7 race engines move the sparkplug to a position over the exhaust valve to improve combustion. Might that be worth looking into?

I'd guess that I would buy 2 if they came out at a price that didn't break the bank. The option to buy enough pre-fab bits to add a single carb or twin would be an advantage (as we discussed). It would be handy for me to have a flat area below the 4 - 1 collector so that I could screw in a 14mm plug...

Apart from one tiny scratch, mine is in perfect condition.

If anyone wants to come and take measurements or even borrow it for copying then I'd be happy to help. I'd guess that most would want the shape of the rear section?

I bought a kit of panels from "XXX", a spares supplier in the UK. I realised that I could have made a better job of fabricating the panels myself. In fact, I think my 6 year old daughter could've done a better job! Henric panels were a much better fit, had the correct shape and were the co...

If you get the 948 type teardrop-shaped taillights and smash them you'll get a nice round insert out of it that sort of fits. I cut one down and used reflective tape inside it for the MM boot reflector.

Hope this helps.

Royal Enfield motorbikes arrive in the UK with chrome silencers that ought to be the perfect size and they usually get discarded due to awful corrosion prospects. About £5 from dealers after they get removed upon import. Nice and narrow. Have a visit to a Classic Bike showroom?

Having designed and built a system for an aeroplane (which worked) I'd say that you'd do well to go up 25% oversize where the 4 pipes join into one and keep it that size for a few feet before sleeving down slightly towards the tail end since the gasses shrink slightly as they cool. Keeping 1 inch al...

OK. When I get back from my trip?
Lucas C39 PV2 (Extended drive) is the dynamo part number.
I could make up sets of the revcounters if anyone was seeeeeriously interested.

I still have 3 Frogeye dynamos with the reduction drive on the back plus cables, gearboxes and even some revcounters.

Maybe cut apart a dashboard grille and set it in there?

I spoke to a nice chap at the ICI factory. They'll make any original colour for a price. More expensive than Blogs Paintshop but the colour sample pots are awesomely accurate.

Can't find the ICI website but it must be there somewhere. Thames Blue and Mist green samples were sent next day.

I looked at the amount of work to get them rechromed and then I looked at the BNIB stainless frames I have in the shed,and.... At least the rubber seals on the 1/4lights are OK. Maybe in a few years I'll get them added to the list of nasty jobs-to-be-done.<br> http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1223...

Have a look at the area in one of the pics that shows the area below the hood. There is that bulge that sat below the roof-sides joint and was only found on the later cars. My '49 hasn't got the bulge but our '52 does. I realise that this car is in-between so it may be my error and not anything dubi...

Iain.

I was hoping you might be able to 'tin bash' my lowlight front wings. I'm told that you are nifty with a gas torch. Just the rearmost inch is bubbling but I wanted undistorted panels before it goes in the chem tank for a strip and electro-coating.

Any chance?
