Re: Got a few grand to spare??
I don't like the non-original black interior in the Tourer. The '61 saloon is more my cuppa especially with that low mileage, and I love 4-doors anyway. Its the 3rd black 4-door they've had for sale in the past year. Other two were a nice 1962 and a 1956 Series II which is now mine! Wish I had need...

Re: pops place sale
Good luck with the sale, Dick, and have a long and happy retirement.
I am sure you will miss Minors after 30 years of working on them, but as one chapter of the book closes, another opens.
Can you give any details of the vehicles that are in the sale on here? If not please pm me.
Cheers
John

Re: Foreign hackers/wasters
Hackers on many topics this morning and also a PM message to me from a hacker!
You may as well close this site down until it gets 100% sorted, as it this is getting completely out of hand, and does nothing for MMOC's reputation.

Re: 1958 Aussie Van in U.K. - full restoration(understatement!)
Always difficult to form an opinion with photos, but I think you have an excellent basis for your restoration. Looks to be plenty of mainly surface rust, but not a lot of absolutely rotten areas. Underside may be different, maybe not.

Without knowing any more, I wish the very best of luck with your task.
You will enjoy it (some days), think you had a screw loose when you bought it (quite a few days), hate the damn thing, (the majority of the time), and love it when it's finished (once, some time in the future)!
Go for it!

Re: new moggie project
Hi Simon Is the body number plate still on the car? That can help narrow down age of the car. PommReg on this site has recorded many body numbers and may be able to help you. If it has a strip of body numbers under the bonnet, along the top nearside of the bulkhead, it is a later shell. If it has th...

Saw a lovely 1960? blue/white Minor convertible out in the wet weather, around 2pm today. Looked really smart parked outside the shops in Middleton on Sea village, PO22. Reg number was reverse LKN.

Re: Last Traveller
Right at top of bulkhead on right hand side when looking under bonnet as your photo. The photo hasn't quite got the two metal strips which have the numbers on. They might need careful cleaning up to read them because the stampings vary in quality, and there might be a lot of paint on them. From memo...

A big 'well done' to everyone in the MMOC team, from top to bottom. That's a real achievement!
It's no mean feat to come out above the 'posh' clubs with this award, and the members should be grateful it is as good as it is.

Re: insurance
Many people on here use RH Classic Insurance 01277 206911, as they seem to offer better value for a lower price. My Morris is £67 plus insurance tax, a total of £73 per year for 3000 miles, fully comp cover, roadside attention or breakdown recovery home, and if I write the car off, they give me the ...

Re: XTU 516F & FJK 387G Both 2 door saloons
At least your old car is still shown on the DVLA site as last taxed in 1991. It is also still shown on the congestion zone site too, but that is likely, as they draw their info from DVLA. It might be still out there! I have just come across a stored moggie that was last taxed in 1988, so don't give ...
