That sounds like an excellent idea Phil. Have you a link or source for the correct bolts please?

Yes, fortunately, ESM have honored their excellent record by sending a replacement, despite the sale date in 2017.
Super response.

Re: Weird oil leak.
Glad to say that I have found the leak. It is from the left shocker! I have not had this before--is it a common problem?

Not a bad idea Les, I'll try it next time I have an excuse to actually use it.

Re: Weird oil leak.
Thanks for plausible causes, but definitely not a breather problem, and wash your mouth out Phil :D --rusty canister indeed! Breather canister is on the tappet chest cover but this is connected directly to the carb body. I assume this is correct? I notice that the one pictured is connected to the ai...

Weird oil leak.
Having put my recently restored van on the road, and expected a few gremlins to correct, but cannot get my head around the one remaining. It's an oil (?) leak which is depositing a fair size puddle on the nearside engine panel underneath the manifold, as soon as the engine is warm and driven. Cannot...

Re: Problems getting firm brake pedal with silicone fluid
During my restoration of the Van, I too renewed all cylinders/pipes and fitted esm/Marina disc set up and changed to dot5 fluid. Using the easibleed method I had similar pedal. Tried again using "Manual" method and they are now perfect. I have no idea why this was, because I have successfu...

Re: Block cleaning.
Thanks for input. I will stick to the manual method and not bother with the Glyptal,as I understand that unless the surface is absolutely 100% clean there is a serious risk of it breaking away and possible blocking of the oilways.
I do have oil gallery plugs fitted and gallery brushes.

Just about to start rebuilding an A+ engine after boring etc. It suspect that it has been left unpainted for some time, and need to prepare it both internally and externally before I start. I have a blast cabinet just about big enough to take the block so would like advice as to whether it is advisa...

Re: Roof sound deadening adhesive?
I used Silent Oat product on the inside of my Van body, and it has drastically reduced the noise element. Not cheap, but will never come off.

A+ valves
I am in the process of preparing a 1275 A+ head for unleaded conversion, and am surprised to find that the valves are triple cotter/double spring type. I have built other A+ heads in the past but have not come across this before. It is a very late 1984 and looks to be totally original from factory f...

Re: Soda blasting or acid dipping
Diesel fuel will soften underseal and make this very messy job easier. I have tried all other options, without success.
Aggressive grit blasting at "commercial" pressure will work faster, but causes unwanted damage to structure and is expensive.

Re: 1275 Engine comparisons
I have just started to build an A+ block with 1275 Midget crank, rods etc in order to seamlessly fit to a late Midget needle roller bearing box. Parts are currently at Machine shop, and just to be clear, are all the 1275 pistons the same deck height? I don't yet know if they are reboring the block, s...

Hi, get some air in the tyres, roll it outside, take lots of pics and advertise it either on here/facebook page/or in desperation, Ebay.
