Re: Comments on this car....
The only other error, but it doesn't detract from the value is it has been fitted with a later front valance. The over riders obscure the side lights.

Re: Comments on this car....
Personally for that money, I'd expect a car to not only go through the next MOT but perhaps many more after that too. It's important therefore, the hidden bits, such as the sills and the underneath are as good as the bits shown in the photo's. Several years ago, mine was valued at £3k. But it isn't ...

Re: Oh no! Another 'Boot Lid Fitting' Query!!
I know mine is an earlier model with a different boot lid, but I have issues with the right hand side of mine too. I dropped the rear seat and looked into the boot from the inside with the lid shut and the wooden bases removed. I was surprised to find the curve in the body where my seal sits is a sl...

Lets hope one day, this teenager in the trendy grey cap and tracksuit grows up and makes his own way in life. Then suddenly, completely out of nowhere, his life and finances come crashing down on him when some scumbag burns his treasured possesion to the ground. Hopefully not with him in it of coarse.

How old is the fuel in the car? Mine ran terrible recently due to stale fuel, if it's over twelve months old it may have "gone off" like mine had.

Re: This Europe referendum malarkey
I have no strong feeling either way whether to stay in or out. I'm currently leaning towards out as there is one thing that gets under my skin. When someone is found guilty of a crime and a UK court finds them guilty, they can then go to a European court and get a different result and ours gets quas...

Well I still can't see how on earth the paint spraying world advanced by going to 2K paints, don't tell me some pen pushers with power decided celly was too harmful for the environment and decided on 2K paints as the way forward ? What paints are recomended / available for the DIY car restorer at h...

Profits may get transferred, but the tax paid on it generally can't and that goes straight into UK PLC's bank. Nissan, Honda, Toyota all said they would move into the Euro Zone if we didn't adopt the same currency as France and Germany. Well that turned out to be porkies. Would they leave and move i...

Most socket sets have a spark plug socket. It is basically a little deeper/longer than your normal socket. If not your local motor factors will do one.

Re: Franchised Dealers.
Is there no way you can do the discs and pads yourself? Provided the discs aren't within their minimum thickness you could just do a pad change for now. Price up some discs and pads from your local motor factor, you'll be surprised how much you could save. It used to take me about three hours taking...

Re: splitscreen REAR window removal.
From memory I think they sit on the inside.
I had to cut my old rubber to get it out and replace with a quality new one. Don't go cheap though with the replacement, they really are a poor quality fit.
Only take the front out if you really have too.

Re: Stale Fuel
Yay, thanks BMC it's running a treat now. Fresh fuel and a good 10 mile run has blown all the old stuff through. Ran like a kangaroo to begin with but after a good blast it runs as good as ever. Even the plugs are the right colour too upon inspection!

Re: Brakes not used for 17 years
In my opinion, everything.
renew all wheel cylinders, nipples, brass junction bits, pipework, master cylinder and shoes.
Mine stood for 20 years or so and the fluid evapourated and left a residue in everything.
While everything was apart I cleaned and repainted the backing plates.
