Re: Washer bottles and Legionnaires' disease
While on this topic.............. When going abroad to an appartment in warm areas be very carefull when using the shower for the first time. If possible take the shower head off the wall and place it near the plug hole and let very hot water run through. A guy at work died from Legionaire`s by stan...

Re: Doing away with the contact box
When we used to fit Fiat engines we used to remove the box. It was easy if you knew which wires to connect.
I seem to remember there being a tech tips article on fitting the Fiat which included wiring diagrams.

Re: I feel an engine build coming on... Maybe more...
The 'high lift rockers' do have a purpose - they make lots of money for the folks selling them - and even more to others selling the parts that these rockers wear out in the engine. Spend ~ £100 for high lift rockers and gain ~ 1 bhp at the top end, and lose plenty low down. Don't do it!! Same with...

Buy youself tuning BL`s A Series engine by David Vizard. It will be the best £20 you ever spend if you intend to do any engine mods.
The main thing to check with the cylinder head is your compression ratio and if the valves hit anything, but in theory it will bolt on.

I seem to remember that we sponsored a trophy a few years ago to be awarded on an annual basis, but I think it was only awarded once. I wonder where it is now?

Re: National Rally 2012
We always liked the Chris Nash Minor and it was on the cover of one of the first Street machines we bought. When Dan owned it (with tube chassis) we went to London from Leeds to look at it. The deal was to swop it for Robin`s pickup. We decided against swopping a finished running Minor for a part bu...

The gold coloured ones go around the lower arm. The bigger silver ones on the right will mount off the top damper. The other silver ones with the oval hole will bolt to the inner wing. The oval hole is a similar shape the the hole in the inner wing that the top arm comes through. The small right ang...

Re: carpet fitting in a V8 moggi ?
We have made quite a few custom carpet sets for our Minors in the past. The hard bit is the edging but if you can use standard carpet for the foot areas and tuck the trans tunnel carpet under these then it all looks neat. We used to buy our carpet from a trimmers up in Yorkshire, they must exist in ...

Do a test sample first and time how long it goes off. I did this before each job and had a big clock so I knew how long I had left.

Building a new exhaust manifold as the original kept cracking due to the wrong specification of material for the application. Checked the clutch as it slipped up past the pits at Le Mans. The plate has plenty left on it but I think it overheated. These were my first circuit laps and the weather was ...

Re: Koni Adjustables
The dampers do not alter the ride height, though they must be correct for the suspension travel. The ride height is (normally) adjusted on the springs. At the of a Minor this is normally done by taking one of the arms off the torsion bar splines and putting it back on one spline round. Sounds simple...

Some more pics would be nice, especially build shots. Is it a "floor pan" or major parts into the Minor shell?
Always interested to see other builds.

Re: hidden hinges for minor bonnet and boot
No pictures ...... but for the boot the hinges have to be quite a way inboard. This is due to the curveof the boot.
I think gary Ellis has hidden hinges on his Minor.

Re: Koni Adjustables
Dampers work best iwhen they are displaced. In other words the damper will be most effecient if as much wheel travel as possible is translated into damper movement. So the aim would be 25mm of wheel movement will give 25mm of damper movement. This is better than if the setup gives 12mm of damper mov...
