Any glass supplier.
If you want laminated then that is easy for them to cut. If you wish to have toughened then it will have to be cut then heat treated and will take longer to do.
Take along an MDF template.

Re: Details of 3ltr Minor/s in Warwickshire
I know of a green low light convertible spaceframed with a front mid mount 2 litre 16V Fiat Lancia, double wishbones and carbon panels in the Coventry area. It isnt seen often on the road though............ I saw it drive past once in Leamington (whitnash area) a couple of years ago... hoping to se...

Re: Disc Brakes on rear?? any ideas
I use tyre temps to set my pressures. If they are too hard then the centre will run hotter than the inside and outerside edges, too soft and the inside and outer edges will be hotter. That sounds very sensible for getting optimum grip and even wear... How long do you drive before checking temps and...

Re: Disc Brakes on rear?? any ideas
Has anyone done some serious experimenting with tyre pressure to find the optimum for modern tyres to get a better trade off between traction and economy? I use tyre temps to set my pressures. Re: alternative way of fitting fixed glass.
I don't think that torsional rigidity is an issue with the Minor shell, if it was I'd have my doubts about how much bonding the screen in would add. Having a bonded screen will make a difference to the torsional ridigity of the the cockpit area of the shell. Any open, non triangulated area is a pot...

Re: alternative way of fitting fixed glass.
Can you post some pictures Innovator? by how much did you move the mounting flange and did you make it any wider? Pics here ..... http://www.beardmorebros.co.uk/website%20pages/new_project_bodywork_page1.htm also look on the "Next page" 6mm glass was used so the lip was moved outboard how...

Re: alternative way of fitting fixed glass.
I have a bonded in flush fit lamminated screen on my Minor. However we had to move the mounting flange outboard so the glass would be flush. I used black silicon to hold my screen in. One mistake I did make was to spray the border of the glass with matt black. So the screen is effectively bonded in ...

Re: Rear spring rates
I am not sure what the spring rate is but do remember seeing it written in a Haynes workshop manual (I think).
However a guide for spring rate will be in the region of 170lb to 200 lb/inch. But a lot depends on the amount of travel, vehicle weight and indended usage.

Re: Van Roof Chop
It is a lot easier if you get a saloon roof then you do not have to weld in a section in the cab roof (or slant the pillars)
Make sure you are profeccient with the hammer and dolly and filler as getting the rear flat will require some skill!

The engine is too long for the standard Minor engine bay though.

Re: EBC 'Green Stuff' Pads
When I said look at what the race teams are using I mean the pad manufacturer, not the actual pad compound. obviously a full race or rally compound will be no good for the road.
Mintex and Ferodo both do compounds suitable or the road.

Re: EBC 'Green Stuff' Pads
I once had EBC pads on my mountain bike and quite soon after fitting them the friction material came away from the backing pad. It was scary! From that point on I would never fit them again even when I was offered them for free for my car many years later from EBC. I have always used Mintex M1144and...

Re: blast from the past x2
Thanks for the info. Robin emailed the old owner (the father of the guy who he sold it too) and he has a couple of historic F1 cars plus a Healey 3000. He said it drove well except for the seating position.
It will be good to see it around again ............ just need to get mine out and about more!

Re: Marina axle
The Marina prop and Minor prop use the same universal joint (1140 series) however the flanges are different. But you can buy a new Marina flange (Dunning and Fairbank will sell them) and then fit it to the Marina prop. However I am unsure if the length of the prop will be correct. It may need shorte...

Pretty much anything on here http://www.radrides.com/gal.htm People asked me what the hardest part of my car build was, the chassis, designing the suspension, making the carbon panels? No it was keeping going. Going into the garage every day and working away at it. The build became a way of life. It...
