Having leafed through my Haynes I'm inclined to think that Cam is right, and it's a problem with the tappets. As I had an unleaded head fitted about 5 weeks ago I spoke to the garage that fitted it and they think it could be a loose tappet - in which case it's covered by the head warranty and they'r...

Car is running fine and I don't think it's the head gasket as I've had a blown one before and it didn't sound like this. It's not very loud but more of a metallic click, as though something is loose? Have driven minors for 11 years and haven't heard a similar noise before. Will check multiphonikks d...

Clicking noise from engine

Hi, Took my car out for a sunday afternoon run (around 60 miles). On the way back the engine started making a funny noise. It's a bit difficult to describe it but it started off like a loud grasshopper then went to a click, click, click noise. Doesn't seem to happen at high speed but I wondered if a...

Clarendon grey & Birch grey were both used in 1957 so it could be either of those. The BL paint codes are GR6 for clarendon and GR3 for birch.
I'm not sure what shade of grey they are but I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help.

Steve, Have you tried the London Morris Minor Centre in SE8, just a short bus ride from London Bridge? I had some work done there last week. The owner Bob Hunt has years of experence, was very helpful, and he's got a few pick ups in at the moment in various stages of restoration so may be willing to...

East London / Essex owners

I am in East London and looking to have an unleaded head fitted. Can anyone recommend a good (local) garage? (Minor Mania is a bit too far from me).

Thanks,

Louise

I've read Skilleter's book too. Just curious as to the actual date of the change as haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

Series 2 question

Does anyone know the date that the last of the 'cheesegrater' grill cars were built? I've checked Ray Newell's book and although it states that the 'facelift' model was introduced in October 1954 there is no exact date or reference to the last production model with cheesegrater.

Thanks,

Louise
