Van seat belt mounts

I am just putting the van back together but I cannot find any evidence of inner seat belt mounts Are these usually on the tunnel similar to saloons?

Re: radiator muff

I have achieved the effect by inserting a piece of plywood over half of the radiator. This slots in place between the car and front panel. Used to leave it in all winter

Re: 56 Split-Screen Coupe BARN FIND!

I do hope you not paint it.

For my tastes many minors are over restored and loose their original charm with very shiney paintwork etc.

I was looking around 58he car park at recent Goodwood Revival - It was noticeable the unrestored cars of all makes were attracting attention

Re: HS2 carbs

Looking through this are you sure thr needle is centred. I would worry when you say you did not tighten it up when centering the jet and you can still move it I have found IT very helpful to disconnect the choke mechanism while doing this. This normally allows easy centering and enabling into tighten...

Re: Fuel tank outlet leaking

I had this when I removed the ranks for a few months while I was doing some major works. In my case it was debris/ surface rust on the seat on the tank joint. To resolve I took off the pipe and used an approp6iarly sized drill to clean up the face on the tank. It's a bit awkward but it has been fine...

Wheel Arch Protectors

I see in the latest Minor Matters that a company called Lokari produces these. Has anyone fitted these?

I would be interested to know if they do the job of fully protecting the inner arch? I would have thought some could be made for the tears too but these are not listed

Re: Dashcam

I bought a garmin sat nav with built in dashcam. it has a sd card to record which is overwritten and can be replaced. Data on speed location are all recorded.

works ok. sat nav a little slow at times but the combination of both options in one unit works for me

new van chassis with log book

What's the legality of advertising a new van chassis complete with a log book only? This is live on eBay at the moment

I understand you can install a new chassis to that van but not if it does not exist

Re: Petrol and diesel ban by 2040

I am not so convinced. Public opinion is starting to question air quality in large city's which is being severly impacted on by car and diesel vehicles. As the number of battery cars increase and the likelihood of banning or restriction of petrol and diesel cars in built option will turn against the...

Re: Petrol and diesel ban by 2040

I think you will see progressive restrictions on older cars and vehicles over the next few years particulaly in built up areas and on week days. I could well imagine these restrictions could come in over the next 5 years.

Suggest we use our cars while we can

Re: Cam follower breather oil trap disintegration

Looking at the canister has anyone ever changed the top to create a screw in lid?

If you could routinely remove and inspect you could ensure it was always functioning correctly. This could be done if the top section could be made to have a connection with a screw thread

Re: Seat foam replacement

you can make up new straps from webbing quite easily as long as you have the old ones. The old ones are secured by a giant staple. If you open this up with a screws driver to be a staple again you can then reuse it along with the metal plate. I find new webbing does not have much give so you need to...

Re: What mig wire to use, what wire to get ,difrent makes ?

I have used 0.8 mm flux fired wire. It takes a bit more patience but you do not need a gas supply.

I did notice quite a difference with different wire suppliers. I use a 5 kg reel every 5 years or so

Re: Fuel sender- 65 van

Tom Thanks for the reply. This is not the gasket I was attempting to describe. The issue I have is the unit itself. once removed from the tank I took the plate off the side of the sender which was only half with 2 screws. Undebeath is the electrical switch but no gasket. This would be below the fuel...
