Release oil ? whats that 3 in 1 or that stuff I forget name of that comes in blue cans and evaporates away when you dont use it for ages ? - thought my brake / clutch shaft after 50 years had welded itself together , if I can get them to work independently it would help.

Any ideas how to repair a broken trafficator , the orange plastic and the holding bracket are both broken at the top of their arm but I cannot work out how they come off to replace with new

Yep , just about every flasher can i get lasts ( and works differently if I swap between cars ) about 4 mins. I think it is to do with the current draw from the pilot light and the indicators themselves. I guess clean the earths and supplies to all indictators, might be worth while trying. Check the...

Assuming timing ok , it probably is the starter. Remove starter and test it with a direct wired connection to a battery to check. It might just need the rear plate removing and the brushes replacing , the little springs could be jamming up against the ?commutator? part.

Is KFL a re-reg Looks clipper blue but that was only on the 948s ( clipper blue paint code is still on the computer at my local paint factors )

Possibly because a pull start is how to confuse MOT testers. Or the original start unit is shorting internally or elsewhere ( I think I have had a drain to earth on mine so in the process of fitting new one , a right pain with short bowden cable and clamps in out of the way places , have to work by ...
