Steering - Oil or Grease?
Just replacing N/S steering gaiter and it looks like the rack has been pumped with grease although the manual says EP90 oil - but names the nipple on the rack as a 'greaser'

Floor repair
I'm about to replace some rusty floor metal (O/S rear). I've cut out the worst stuff (avoiding spring hanger and cable/brake line). Originally I was thinking of welding a flat plate to the underside - but chickened out and bought a proper panel as it was only £20. Now I've got the panel - it looks l...

Re: Anti roll bar fitting needed
We have the same antiroll bar fitted. The original was supplied by Owen Burton, and when they finished, ESM seem to have taken on many of their parts, including the antiroll bar. ESM will also supply a polyurethane bush to replace the original rubber one - tightens up the front quite nicely. When y...

It's date of registration was 2nd Jan 1960, so I'm guessing that it was manufactured some time in '59.ASL642 wrote:it rather depends on what year the car was manufactured .

Anti roll bar fitting needed
The after market Anti Roll Bar (Mr Grumpy's?) fitted to my car has a damaged pick up bush holder. Car had a side swipe which made a bit of a mess to the bush retaining wall. Also, to get the thing out from the tie bar fitting it shares was only possible with a very large hammer - si the thread is pr...

Re: Torque settings
What part are you working on, that you need torque values for? The important ones are all in the BMC manual, although you'll have to search a bit to find them. The non-important ones can be done by feel, or the old adage: tighten 'till it strips and then back off 1/4 turn. :) FWIW, My other interes...
