MM Headlight shrouds

I could do with a pair of the front inner wing parts which are a bolt on component which protect the headlights on a lowlight. They bolt on to the front of the inner wing and locate at their outer edge to the hockey stick area of the front panel/wing. If I cant get them, I'll make them - I know it's...

Just a piece of advice - if you use Spax shocks, they don't like being used at an angle. I went through 2 pairs on the front of my Rover p6B in 3 weeks before substituting for Konis (got a refund though). They also failed on the rear of my minor mounted in a similar manner to what you describe.

'No, i mean engilsh, i wasnt including the scotts or the welsh (or if you were refering to the british isles then the irish too)'

Well that's ok then - on that basis I'll not bother supporting 'English' companies then!!

Don't want to start a row, but I get fed up when people refer to 'English' when they actually mean British. It's bad enough on the EBC, but not here please.
Please moderate this out from now on if you don't mind.

I consider that when Jonathon 'uses the forum as a springboard for his products' he is merely enlightening us all to the 'researched improvements' he has developed for us all. The same applies to anyone who is able to pass on their expertise - because why re invent the wheel. It is for people to mak...

My mate also blasts oak framed homes to clean the wood, but uses special media as wood can stain. You are quite safe blasting heavy gauge metals, but have a go at an unsupported panel and see what you are left with. As I said, just do the underneath, and edges with grit, but use bead blasting for do...

RE: Being Ripped Off by Specialist Garages

It surely didn't just suddenly happen from the previous mot to this one. Minors need constant looking after if you want to avoid this problem. Of course it should have lasted more than 5 years, but preventative measures have got to be taken. It also depends on where you live (near the sea?) and type...

It depends what teles you put on - if it's spax or koni adjustables then perhaps ok, but if it's the mini shock, then they need all the help they can get. Depends whether you like a firmer ride or not - keep the originals with heavier fluid rather than using standard mini ones. When I bought a fiat ...

Here's some before and after shots of panels that went for bead blasting. Bead blasting is possibly the mildest form of blasting, so if this happens with what I thought was sound panels, then be very careful with grit blasting. Although I have had dozens of parts blasted over the years, I'm forever ...

I'll post a picture of a minor 1000 front panel that I had bead blasted recently - it appeared sound when I sent it, but it is now rather frilly - I'll also post a picture of an MM panel done at the same time as a comparison. Blasters shouldn't be using sand - this is apparantly illegal - free silic...

I've used isolator when things went wrong, particularly when trying to rectify someone elses bodge job. Sometimes you don't know what the paint quality is that you're spraying over, so flat it back, strain the isolator through a strainer, then spray as per instructions. Do not flat back, but spray p...

I was sent this information when I tried to pay using paypal, (wanted $1.95 refundable against future purchases) so sent a cheque instead - I think E bay is becoming a bit dodgy now as they do not police it very well. I am hearing too many stories of scams and people taking money and not sending goo...

Mike,
I feel that you should have left this topic on the site, because if people want to shoot themselves in the foot it is up to them, and they soon get found out.
Besides it makes life interesting.

To clarify the perceived handling problem, I had no trouble at all in the 100,000 miles I did in my MGB engined lowlight. This includes trips to the south of England on numerous occasions attending custom car events. In the dry I did not have to slow down much for any corner, and would place it's ha...

I won't comment on personalities within this post, but will confirm that fitting a B series is relatively straightforward. I ran a full race MGB engine in my MM series for many years and used a Sherpa diesel radiator with electric fan when this became available. I previously used 2 mini radiators si...
