Id have another go with a wooden block and a mallet on the side of the head while its hanging, obviously not too far off the bench or floor!!! Perhaps even mallets used on both sides of the head at once.

My clarendon grey traveller has a grey marbled one which matches well! The other MMs are both later replacements. Stephen Gordon has discovered that there are dates moulded into the bakelite rims, but they are often worn away on well used cars

Ive attached a pic of my MM swivel pins when stripped off for refurb. As Rob says they only have one steering arm hole and the stub axle is thinner. Yes murrayminor, its noted on the tax book as declared manufactured in 1950, nothing about its previous number at all unfortunately.

Im not sure but I would guess that it is for one of those Smiths auxiliary type pumps that mount on top of the dynamo and run off the fan belt. I do have one of them but was never sure were the water supply would come from!!

Russ, I always seal between the body and rubber and between the glass and rubber. When you fit the sealing strip it will push out any sealer that it doesnt need which is why its good that its easily cleaned off your new paint and shiney glass!!
