I use to use around 24 PSI all round. 24 - 26 should be fine.

Practice & a few pointers is all you need... I'd gas welded before but picked up mig with an hours lesson from a mate & then started welding the mog next day... 4 days later after welding chassis legs, floor pan, spring hanger etc... MOT pass. Mig welding to MOT level is not that hard. Tirin...

I won't be there... sorry! Wrong country for me & the minor now lives in Sussex... I would have loved to have brought something else interesting if I was in the UK though.. Be the only other vehicle keeping up with Cam!! (or maybe that K series too...) :) http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/sa...

Those wheels would look quite nice, kind of like mini lites. Better in Silver though!

If you use BMECOSSE's idea you will need to get a new cap anyway probably... You need one with 2 rubbers in it or it won't suck back (one under the head of cap & one on the valve thingy). Halfords do them but you might struggle to find one the right lb, think Minor is 4lb & their lowest is 1...

I've used the Ignitor kit from Aldon too. Works very well & very easy to fit & is all hidden so even looks standard if that's important to you...

The Capri stuff is the same as Sierra stuff... A Type 9 box has been fitted to various Moggies & I've seen V8 conversions using the Type 9 too. The Rover V8 is slightly bigger than the Pinto although not much & the weight is the same. Be heavier than the A series so you'd have to uprate susp...

I use the Automec stuff from Bull Motif. Works fine. Harder to bleed though & expensive (£25 a litre bottle).
All the brake system was replaced new before I added it though.... :)

RE: More Metro Seats

You may find it easier & better to weld a nut to the sill rather than welding threaded rod. Then you can use bolts to fix it. If you wanted a really neat flush job do it the same way you'd repair a seat belt retaining nut... Ray put an excellent description of that on here many moons ago but if ...

RE: Front brakes

8" - the bigger ones... that's what my mum's had that was a late 62 / early 63. It was one of the changeover models with pull start ignition & amber speedo but had flashing indicators & a 1098... had the early heater in it too & the duotone seats.... Saloon though... not convertible...

A Vernier puller (or adjustable chain in this case) can make a lot of difference when dialling in the CAM - only any real use though if you get it on a rolling road with someone who knows what they are doing....

Engine off. I've never seen anyone do it with the engine on either.
The easiest way is with an ezibleed type kit & a spare cap that's drilled to take the tube.

RE: running on unleaded

Sorry to tell you jtd.75 but those fuel catalysts were tested by the FBHVC & were proved to do absolutely nothing! You may as well just stuck the money in pound coins straight into the tank... If I was you I'd switch to an additive that's been tested & approved such as Castrol Valvmaster or ...

I've heard of head gaskets going on vehicles that show no signs whatsoever except they are losing water. If it got that hot & you definitely can't see a leak then it's a likely suspect. Does the engine "exhaust" through the radiator? That's one sympton on a lot of cars with a blown gas...

RE: Clutch judder after fitting new diff

I would guess that some slack in the old stuff was helping to "iron" out the judder. Normally this is associated with gearbox or engine mounts (& a hell of a lot of minors judder in reverse...), doesn't always mean they are shot either... Willie's judder got worse when he fitted new mo...

I've never had or heard of anyone have one go... it's not that common but still good advice.... Most of the anti surge extension leads come with an anti surge phone line connection on them now too.. saves the hassle....
