Essentially, but theres no gasket. Make sure that the mounting flanges are not bent and are free of dried on, yucky exhaust paste and carefully line them up (I find a trolley jack to be really handy for this) and use a new clamp to join them together. I'm not going to advise on method, but its worth doing all the bushes at the same time and with polys a liberal coating of white grease is a very good idea if you don't want squeaks....

Is it possible that the flange is bent on the halfshaft? Knocked hard into the kerb or a manufacturing fault?

The fact he doesn't want to MOT it has to be indicitive of something as a full ticket would boost the value significantly. It does look fairly tidy but the panel allignment sends alarm bells ringing - of course without seeing the car its impossible to really say whats going on, it might be a really ...

in terms of rear seats, it was only bases that went into the skip (and one traveller seat back). I think it was a toss up between me and Stevey who got to the skip first
