Re: Goldseal fan belt

Thanks guys. I really do want to keep the original set up. There was no fan belt on it when we restored it so no comparison. I had assumed mine used the standard later type A section belts (car is June 1954) but wonder as it is a bmc replacement engine could it need the earlier B section. Is there a...

Goldseal fan belt

Hi all. I have a 1954 series 2 with a gold seal 803cc engine. It has its original large pulley dynamo and the engine has the early type timing cover. Recently the old 813mm fanbelt has seen it's best days and I purchased a new 813 fanbelt which will just not fit, even with the dynamo unadjusted agai...

Re: 1954 series 11 black 4 door

Been a while since I've added to this. Pz went to the jubilee and has been used here and there. JubileePageant_2782.jpg Recently I've got new tyres and sorted the tracking. DSC_8673.JPG I've also finally gotten round to repairing and assembling a dashboard clock. Does anyone have photos of how the w...

Re: Braided fuel house

Series 2 and mm pumps have a 90 degree take off for the fuel pipe which i don't think you have on the pump which might help. Also there are 2 lengths of pipe depending on the float bowl arrangement. Might be worth checking online to make sure you have the longer pipe.

Re: Original seats Feb 1954 registered S11

For 1954 the piping would have been the same as the material, the white piping came in around 1956. As you say the front seats with the stitching on the backboard is correct for 1954 model year.

Re: Off with its head

New head fitted and all. Compression test shows only 5 psi difference so looking good. The replacement head has new valve guides so was able to use the later spring type valve stem oil seals. Thanks for the info guys.

I'm assuming that the valve hasn't been shutting right and has burned the valve seat.

Off with its head

I've run into some trouble with the cylinder head on my series 2. I can get hold of a 948 head but will a 948 head fit the 803 block?

Many thanks Image

Have a look at this link for the front end removal.

And yes the sides are held in place by the center section and just slotted in at the sides.
