Re: Shock Absorber oil?
Yes it is. That's what he said to use. Warm it in boiling water to soften it, then put it in. Mind you, he's not an expert on MM, so I thought I'd check with 'the pros'. Your absolutely right to check, the simple answer is don't do it, as Cam said you would be taking the dampers and their associate...

Re: Supermarket petrol.
Looks like I stirred up a hornets nest here. Not sure if I'm any the wiser! It's a discussion that I think could have you going in circles. :D My experience is that my Minor seems to run better on a premium (higher octane) unleaded, my modern Saab 9-3 Turbo seems to run the same on Tesco unleaded o...

Well if you ever end up at the petrol station further down the road it's the pump nearest the door you need.drivewasher wrote:oh, we are always at those stations and always a few of the pumps seem toalways have those nozzle locks on

Re: Supermarket petrol.
The trick our local petrol station next to Manchester Airport uses is to have unleaded and diesel on their board at a very competitive price and then only have them for sale at one pump. Their premium unleaded is the only petrol available at the other five pumps at a very uncompetitive price, they d...

log book sales
I reported an log book for a 1959 Traveller being sold on a well known auction site two days ago and it is still for sale. The interesting thing is that the seller has 11 for sale in total for various classics some with MOT certificates. I know this is an old subject and as I understand it not illeg...

10 years, where did they go?
Sad I know but I've just noticed it's 10 years ago today that I joined the Messageboard.
Two things spring to mind.
1) Where did they go?
2) Do I get a badge?

Re: A bad reputation created by some 'modern' car drivers ?
I had to shake my head today a Ranger Rover Evoque driver who whilst I was driving along the M60 through road works with a 50 mph limit and average speed cameras passed me like I was stood still, upon seeing the speed camera braked to 50 mph and after passing the camera floored it again.

Re: Administration fee when buying a car.
Quick update, visited a small main dealer for the same manufacture to look at their cars on Saturday. One of their approved used cars took my eye and I arranged a test drive for Monday. It was a very nice car but as always seems to happen to me a newer car (the one up on a stand) which was above my ...

Re: Administration fee when buying a car.
The original post sounds like E^ans Hellshaw to me.... The charge will include a Data check that the car is not on HP/stolen/accident damaged /correct mileage etc etc. But I agree - all that should be included in the selling price.... Or as they are otherwise known the checks any dealer does in abo...

Administration fee when buying a car.
I was looking at buying a used car on Thursday. I found a car of interest at a large multi site main dealer who I have purchased a car from in the past,I emailed them asking for details of the warranty that would come with the car. A sales executive rang me yesterday and I asked him to email me the ...

Re: Exhaust to manifold
Which type of clamp are you using? I had the same problem using the type with a bolt at one side only, ended up using the cast type with a bolt on both sides after being told they were good and no problem since. On close inspection my exhaust had a very small mark on the lip were I think it had been...

Re: Front Valance width.
Apart from the lowlight valance the front valances are all the same length. The difference is in the cutaway around the grille/wing join and the position of the hole for the overrider mounting bolt which on the cheesegrater grille is in line with edge of the grille and on the slatted grille is in l...
