The damper operating principal consists of dual pistons connected to a common rocker arm (the lever). It does not matter which way round they are fitted provided the levers are symmetrical and fitted accordingly. ... until one takes the valve into consideration.. I like the idea, but on the left hand one, the upward stroke will rotate the shaft anti-clockwise, whereas on the right hand one the shaft will rotate clockwise; so my gut reaction is that they cannot be swapped, quite apart from the difference in shape. P.S. I had that.... The voltage from the alternator was feeding back to the excite wire, had to install a kill-switch.... changed to a diode.

Oil pressure, that's normal, higher pressure when the oil is cold ( thicker) , and higher pressure when the pump ( engine) is running faster...
As for oil loss due to poor crankcase breathing..that's a longer subject.
