If I do that, can I still get out by using the door handle?

Internal door locks - 2 door Saloon.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know if it's possible to install an internal door lock on the driver's door? Hebe of course has one on the passenger door, but only a blanking rubber on the driver's door. I will be doing some alone night-time driving in Hebe come the Autumn (long distances too). I'd really ...

Nah. :)

Actually, K and I were commenting the other day about moving the stuff from Lincoln. I said... "wouldn't it be cool to find someone who could lend us a van for the weekend". Not sure a piano plus numberous other things would a) fit and b) not be too heavy.

I have my girlfriend eating out of my hand... No no .. erm.. Basically our move is in two parts: The stuff from America should arrive next week to the new house and between then and the end of my Job here on July 20th we'll try to move as much of our stuff as possible. The piano will be the big thin...

Hi Rupert! Autoglass came and did mine yesterday (it took him the best part of 3 hours so you should be dead proud!) The problem with mine stemmed from the chrome strip not wanting to sit right (He put it in before fitting it) As to sealing - he used a standard polymer-in-a-applicator-gun black goo....

I'd find someone to look after it.

I'm sure a local Moggie person would help you out. It looks in really good condition, and if you know you're returning then keep it!

Alternatively, where are you going? Any way you can export it for a few years?

Negitive earth! How fast was that?! (and other creatures)

Hi everyone! Thanks to the -ve earth conversion instructions on the site - I have just converted Hebe to -ve earth. The best part; It only took me 10 minutes! While I had the bonnet up I played with the idle speed and found out that, according to the Handybooks's Owner's Handbook: Minor 1000 , it wa...

Just an update. The speedo has (after my father-in-law's advice to put the smallest bit of vaselene in the back of the speedo where the drive shaft attaches) settled down. She's now reporting pretty accurate speeds above 20 mph. The action isn't as quick as I'd like recording decelleration - (of cou...

Damn - it appears my speedo works very accurately, but 30 mph faster than it actually is!!!

I think I've broken the thing. - It's a case of waiting to see what happens. I've won an auction on ebay for a new speedo, and I'm probably going to visit the local scrapyard too...

To add to the post.... I took the speedo out (who said the self retaining screws were bl**dy self retaining?! - they've disappeared somewhere by the glove box!) There was a noticable anoumt of grease by the speedo itself, but the cable *did* feel quite tight in places. I've lubricated it again just ...

Hmmmm. I'm going to take the speedo out this morning and have a look. I'm hoping that I can put some oil in there and at least keep the speedo happy till I get a new cable ordered. (If that's the problem) As to accuracy pre-yesterday, she had a few points on her dial where she behaved quite erratica...

Could be the cable... http://www.morrisminoroc.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=3848 for more on this. Or it could be the speedo itself giving up the goast. This sounds about right. Hebe's previous owner did under 1800 miles in her last year. Up till yesterday she did have a s...

Erratic Speedo

Hi folks Hebe has been the perfect lady since I got her and today we covered a total of about 100 miles. On the way back home, she decided at about 70 mph that her speedo should play tricks on me. And now... Her speedo is anything but accurate. It jumps all OVER the place. Any suggestions in how I m...

Cool - but what would cause it to be fitted? Something at the factory which was fitted just in case???

What the hell is that?!

Hi guys! So, after a drive to Newark today and while waiting for my late partner to arrive, I pop the bonnet up and have a peer into the engine. Now, I'd not noticed this when I bought Hebe, (in fact I don't think this bit had fallen off!) but dangling by one solitary black wire with what looked lik...

Glass cutting compound?

I picked up some glass cutting compond from a well known car store yesterday. Hebe's windows are a bit on the "well used" side. They're certainly legal (no cracks) but there are some scratches here and there - I suspect from someone trying to clean her windows with a dirty or non lint free...
