Hello MM,
Yes you can keep the Minor wheels, they fit the midget hub just fine.
What you need to do is fabricate a plate to which you can bolt the calipers to and which attaches to the Minor upright. It is completely different to the Midget upright.

Hello all, just a quick note regarding machining the 1098 block. As I am fortunate eough to have a lathe at home I made up a mandrel to fit a small diameter grindstone. Using this and the head as a jig I ground the pockets using a standard power drill to drive the grindstone. This worked quite well,...

Hello Ben, My wife's 1098 Traveller has a 940 head and runs well. (It also has an 1 1\2" SU and a long centre branch manifold.) I relieved the block to prevent the exhaust valves clashing. It had a 295 head until that cracked, and all I could find in a hurry was a 940 (I was looking for an unle...

Hello Winger, if that is a 12G202 then it has been radically reshaped. I would say that being a Cooper head it is not a 202. It is similar in shape to the 295. I would doubt that there would be a significant improvement on a standard 295, unless other alterations are made to make use of the (hopeful...

Hello Mof, I don't know how much work on your cars you anticipate. What I suggest if you are doing more than just the occasional job, is that there is a more versatile way:- oxy\acetylene welding equipment. I, personally, wouldn't have a MIG set as a gift as it is rather limited in it's applications...

Hello P & D, if it is the barrel you wish to change, most door locks and ignition switches have the lock barrel held in by a small (1\16" dia) brass pin which you need to tap out, then the barrel will come out from the body. It used to be a well known bodge, if you didn't have the right key...

Hello Lee, if you really must lift the back, blocks won't work as the axle is above the spring, blocks lower the car. There are two ways to raise it, either have the springs re-cambered or fit longer links at the rear of the spring. Quite easy to fabricate if you have some workshop facilities, just ...

Hello Les,
The dowel hole is opposite to the 1¦4 marking, i.e. dowel hole at six o'clock then the 1¦4 is at twelve o'clock. Yes the flywheel is rececessed and fits over the crankshaft.
