Re: Trunnions - a warning!!!

That's a HIGHLY modified suspension you have there! The problem is that the pin you are trying to remove has 'shoulders' which is why you can't knock it out as it is, and it looks like that suspension arm has been welded together with the trunnion in place, making it impossible to remove unless you ...

Re: Trunnions - a warning!!!

Blimey - I wasn't expecting a reply to a post i made four years ago! I can't see your pictures because it's asking me to log in to your Tumblr account. You can post pictures directly onto your messages on this forum. However, my guess is that it sounds as if you haven't separated the two halves of t...

Re: Tyre pressures

Too high - my thoughts exactly, which is why I asked. I used to put 30psi all round when I ran on 145R14 tyres so I'll drop them to that and see how it goes.

Re: Tyre pressures

I recently had a set of Nankang 155R14 tyres fitted, and the garage that put them on for me inflated them to 35psi. I don't know if this is too high but they look and feel right.

Thanks Bob - I'll get onto it tomorrow. It's a job I've been putting off for ages.

Floppy wipers

The wipers on my '62 Minor have become very floppy and have lots of 'play', which means they overshoot the sides of the windscreen and when they go down again they slap the windscreen rubber, where notches are beginning to form. Is it just the wiper arm spindle gear? Or is it the drive cable? Or both?

Re: What's your morris minors name?

Hi Vicky - welcome to the forum! There was a thread a few years ago about the names people have given their Minors. Here's a link: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... 3&p=184317

Re: Radial Tyres

Having read the positive feedback about Nankang 155R14 tyres on this thread I decided to purchase a set from Camskill. They arrived the next day and are now on my Minor - what a transformation! The steering is light and responsive and it's like driving a new car. Admittedly they did replace a set of...

Re: Car's history found online!

Just thought I'd take the liberty of making a Minor adjustment (groan!) to the photograph you posted, as it was quite over exposed. I hope you don't mind.[frame]Image[/frame]

Re: Tube or Tubeless - that is the question

And tyre manufacturers advise NOT to put tubes inside tubless tyres - the ribbed internal pattern (from the bladder during curing) can rub through the tube causing punctures..... That's certainly true. When I bought my Minor 3 years ago it had been fitted (by the previous owner) with two new Bridge...

Tube or Tubeless - that is the question

I am about to purchase four new tyres for my Minor 1000. Should I use innertubes or go tubeless? I'm thinking of getting a set of Toyo tyres from Bull Motif - has anyone used these tubeless?

Glad to see you're back, taupe. More inspiration for us Traveller restorers! I would be out in my garage working on mine now if it wasn't -7 degrees C!

I saw a broken down trafalgar blue Minor saloon being towed by the AA north of Wroxham today. A coincidence, as my last spotting was a broken down Traveller a couple of weeks ago.

Saw a burgundy Traveller broken down on the verge of the dual carriageway on the A140 near Scole, Norfolk this morning. It had obviously been fitted with hazards as they were flashing!

British Pathe film - Car Dumping!

Just found this film from 1965 about car dumping - the scenes near the end are quite shocking to the classic car enthusiast!
