Re: Van wheel tyre width
Will. Could you do me a favour and get a photo of a van wheel with a tape measure placed inside the rim to show how far apart the two sides are that the tyre metal bead fits onto? Here is a 3J / 3-inch saloon rim. Thanks. Rob[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1473949449_4752 [/frame] Yes, W...

Re: Van wheel tyre width
Thanks Les. I assume it's similar too 145s vs 155s on standard rims? both will fit but 145s have a much less bulbous side wall? If that's the case I'll opt for 155s.les wrote:155 is normal, 165 would be about the widest to go, they start to get very near the top trunnions.

Van wheel tyre width
Hi All,
I've managed to pick up a set of van wheels (4.5J) which need tyres, there seem to be a bit of debate on which is the right size tyre, 155 or 165. Has anyone got any recommendations?
Thanks,
Will

Where abouts in London are you located? I'm in Manor House atm. Haven't got any tools or spares as the car is at home but I'm more than happy to have a look at the car over the weekend to see if I can help diagnose the fault.

Looks to be close. 8mm or 5/16 (7.9mm) peg so you might even make one from a piece of bar and a bent bit of rod.
Looks good, I will order some up!

Re: MM tourer rear side screens
I have a spare set that may end up being surplus. I won't know until I have my old ones rebuilt. The steel frames rot like crazy but the shape is simple enough to fabricate. I was going to make a spare set anyway if time permits. The brackets are also not too complicated to make. The parts which fi...

MM tourer rear side screens
Hi all, I've recently bought a 1950 MM tourer project. It's missing lots of bits, but I am reasonably confident that most of them are obtainable either new or second hand. One of the few bits that worries me is the rear removable side screens which were fitted to the early Tourers. They are complete...

Re: Roof lining boards
Hi does anyone know what can be used to cover the boards to look something like the originals please Thanks Ian I think there are different materials of headlining depending on the year of car. I've got to replace mine on my '50 and was going to use some of the material like this: http://www.woolie...

Good advice, thanks PO.plastic_orange wrote:These rear lights were used on a lot of cars from the late 40's early 50's, but they may have had different plinths. I'm sure my A40 Devon had them. Perhaps a google search would help.

Re: Split screen rear light gaskets.
That was my review - basically it doesn't fit, so I re-used the 65 year old part. I've got 2 cars both needing the rubber under the front of the door frame replaced - perished - and cars are garaged, not used in winter and parts aren't old. Modern rubber components are very poor quality. Perhaps ad...

Split screen rear light gaskets.
Hi all, In the process of putting my split-screen back together, currently focussing on the rear lights. I need the rear light bases like these: http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=810_838&products_id=718&osCsid=25d61c174fbba33ec9fd6720341c2a7c however they've got terr...
