Re: Last Minor Ever......really ?? (Manchester)

Great to see a happy ending to what originally looked like a possible scam.

Well done chaps!

Re: General public

Last year someone stuck his head through the window and said "I used to have one of those". we had a chat and he said "I've got tons of sppares in the garage you can have for free" so it was well worth the time. Brand new factory rear wings, anybody??? :D Last week I was asked i...

Whereabouts are you and how much do you need?

Will need it in September when I’m back in Norfolk (UK).

Need to wrap about 3 foot bundle of about 6 wires.

Re: Loom wrapping tape

Thanks guys. A lot of useful information.

I don't need a complete harness. Just adding some extensions.

This is the kind of thing:

But hoping to find something that is a better match to the existing loom.

Re: Front-left creak

Hi all, I have discovered a creak going over bumps from the front-left: particularly when steering left; disappears when steering fully right. Having bounced it up and down, I think the creak is coming from the end of the tie rod, where it joins to the tie plate. Is replacing the rubber bushes like...

I’ve never managed to get pulled over by the bluebottles in Jodie.

Even tried drag racing them off the lights, but they never noticed :)

Must get a blower.

Re: PHPBB issues - was ULEZ U-turn

What worries me in all this is the lack of support, not just from our IT provider as a service provider, but for the standard of Bulletin Board itself. Seems to me that to run an outdated forum is just asking for trouble. We all know we're supposed to do all the published updates to our Browsers an...

Re: The New MOT Exemption Rules

I got pulled over by the rozzers last weekend in the saloon. Conversation as follows... ' good morning Sir, we'd just like to point out that your MOT expired on the 12th of May so you need to get that sorted' 'Thank you officer, but I am now exempt from MOT' 'No Sir, not road tax, the actual MOT' '...

Re: Series II Windscreen Trim

A lot of trim bits seem to be virtually impossible to get these days. Speedo surrounds and horn presses for the later cars for example. I wonder if it would be worthwhile running a Kickstarter campaign to get such things made? Perhaps not enough volume of demand unfortunately. I think for many bits...

Re: The New MOT Exemption Rules

I think that’s all fairly clear. What is boggling me is where the line is drawn regarding significant modifications taking a car out of the class. Blower on A series engine? Vertical shocks? Five-link rear end? (Remove rug, picnic basket and nodding dog?) There seems to be a gray area around the mor...

My personal preference would be to bite the bullet and archive the old board. At least we would have a clean start. No doubt more knowledgeable users would be happy to post links to the archived board in new threads where appropriate. It would upset some people I’m sure, but if browsers can drop fla...

Re: ULEZ U-turn

Mike, thanks for the clear explanation.

I must admit I hadn’t realised this was a legacy code setup. I had assumed (never assume!) that it was a new phpBB setup.

All the best and hope the whining (from all sources) isn’t getting to you :)

Brian I don't see why it should subject us another painful transition I've changed my company website hosting, including emails and it's gone without a hitch. It's especially easy if the provider is simply selling on the hosting and you can switch to another seller-on. Personally I find the Forum s...
