Re: Short Wife!

it seems it's not always only a problem of the seat position on the floor. I did a update of both front seats with a stronger front seat base form cushion, a set base rubber diaphragm as replacement for the straps and the rubber raising blocks. It is a complete new seat position and much more comfor...

Re: Black fluid on wheels

...... i would think it is. Brake fluid normally resolves the paint, that´s another point you can look for. For safety reason, take off the drums and inspect the brake cylinders.

Re: 8" drum/back plates upgrade

not very much...
you have to remove the hub, otherwise it is not possible to fix the backplate.
Keep in mind that the adjusters and the springs are different to the 7" setup. The cylinders are the same.

Re: front and rear brake drums

i personally don't know a conversion kit.
You nee, as you wrote, backplate left and right, brake-shoes, 2 springs for 8" setup each side and 8" Drums.
The brake cylinders are the same as the 7" setup.
Sometimes you can get a good used set on some selling platforms

Re: Joachims brake disaster

thanks for the picture. I now see, the springs are not fixed equal. For this is the right side of the car the spring showing to the front should be fixed in the inner hole and the spring to the back fixed in the outer hole. So this might be the solution to my problem. And yes i put the springs on th...

Re: Joachims brake disaster

i am still not satisfied with my front brakes. What is the correct position for the springs? First i tried the "outer one" on the two holes side. Seems ok for me so the cylinders got a little start pressure. I put the adjusters in on minimum position. When i put on the drum, it was hard to...

Re: Joachims brake disaster

good morning and thank you all for your informations. The main thing i did not know is, that the brake cylinders for 7“ and 8“ are the same. So back to my problem. The best way to fix, is buying new 7“ brake shoes. The Cylinders are new, the backplate is in very good condition and the drums too. I n...

Re: Joachims break disaster

just had a look at some suppliers sides. It seems to me that there are the 8" brake plates installed, because the 900er brake cylinders got other fixing points. is it possible that someone fixes the 7" drums on a 8" brake installation? The inside diameter of the drum is something by 1...
