Mick,
Manyminors is correct - the front wheel you show is from a face-lift Series II.
Maybe a previous owner replaced the front suspension legs with later ones, carnying the later hub and drum assemblies.
Are the rear wheels the same pattern?
George.

Re: New Purchase!!
Hello David, Progress is VERY slow as I'm finding more problems at every turn. I now have the Fuel Tank sender and fuel gauge working, the instrument cluster is back in the car. I've fitted the correct clutch and brake pedals, which means I can now fit the 2nd hand gearbox tunnel (the original was m...

Re: Traveller rear door seals
This is the top of the LHD door and how the rebate part of the door edge closes onto the new rubber. top of left door closure.jpg The doors are a bit dropped as you can see from the placement of the door lip. I, unfortunately, used quadrant on the door vertical overlap join, instead of the flat rubb...

White convertible going Westbound on the A30 near Bagshot at 15:03 today. Sorry, the sun was so bright, the car looks over exposed. Looks to be a transitional Series III with uprated wheels. Re: Traveller rear door seals
Hello Napoleon, I've replaced all my rubber seals as the doors were rattling - the original rubbers having mainly perished. Looking at your "late" traveller woodwork, it looks very different from my 1956 Series II wood. IMG_20190715_170719.jpg With the quadrant rubber fitted, there is no w...

Re: Number plate recommendations?
I used Numberplates-4-u to get replacement pressed plates (for my 1955 saloon) - the website is at http://www.numberplates-4-u.co.uk/ He produced the correct shaped rear boot-lid plate, with radiused corners and used the 3 1/2" high pre-1963 digits. He will require sight of your V5. 2015 prices...

Re: Ignition and Light Switch problems
Got my M10 fine die yesterday and tried it on the switch - not a lot of room with the die held in a holder, but managed to get a half turn, which was enough to start off the lock ring.
Light switch now fitted back in the dash panel - all good thanks.

Re: Signature File Attachments
No, the filename is not complete. It should have the fuller location string, something like www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/download/file.php?id=13496 but prefixed with the square bracketed "img" and terminated with the square bracketed "/img" Also, just in front of the "www&qu...

Re: Signature File Attachments
You're very lucky I gave up trying months ago. If you mean getting a signature picture in then do this - (1) Post to this thread, put a few words in and then scroll down to get to "Options and "Attachments". (2) Click on "Attachments" and a button pops up with "Add fil...

Re: Dynamo Testing - what am I doing wrong?
Folks, Please note that I have posted many "how to" posts with copious images over the years that I have been a member. I don't just ask for help, but offer solutions too. It is a great shame that the MMOC's change of websites did not include a move of all the valuable archive photographs ...

Re: Dynamo Testing - what am I doing wrong?
ERRATA - the C40 dynamo was producing the 14.6v DC, the C39 and now the 2nd C39 are the ones that produce 18-19v DC. I never was very good in the heat and today is far too hot for me - better not work under the low-light's bonnet today until the sun moves round the back (car is on the open drive), a...

Re: Dynamo Testing - what am I doing wrong?
I re-flashed one C39 and one C40. My battery drill was running down so I swapped batteries, but this only brought the voltage up slightly - I was using this drill as it has variable speed on the trigger. Then I remembered I had an old mains B&D drill with 2 speeds (Low and High) but no trigger s...

Re: Dynamo Testing - what am I doing wrong?
I always thought that field winding flashing was to change the polarity of the Dynamo.
These are already +ve earth - otherwise the meter would have been showing a negative reading, but I will re-flash them and try again.
Thanks,
George.

Dynamo Testing - what am I doing wrong?
Colleagues, My project car (1950 low-light) has a C40 dynamo that has stopped showing any output. I tested it on the vehicle and less than 1v showing. I have 3 old spares, 2 x C39 and 1 x C40, so I thought I would get one, or more, of those up and running and do a swap out. I have followed the sugge...
