Re: 998cc Short Engine Build
When the pistons is canted over it won't help with the ring seal, so oil consumption and power will be affected.

Re: This could turn a few heads.....
Not only expensive, and rusty, but depending on when it was made, possibly illegal, as trailers need to satisfy type approval or an IVA these days:

Re: Ford discs-sticking caliper?
Very normal, they should be a good interference fit, a hammer with a drift, or the old outer race is a good way to get them in square.
Can need a proper clout

Re: Ford discs-sticking caliper?
There's normally two grooves on the inside of the hub behind the bearing outer race in two spots to allow you to punch it out from behind -it is easy to miss if there is a load of grease in there. Definitely no pullers required, dubious if they would work either, to be honest. If it hasn't got the g...

Re: Ford discs-sticking caliper?
There should be no play, they are tape roller bearings so to tighten: - Loosen nut on the stub axles, after removing split pin - Tighten, gently until you start to feel the disc having some more resistance to spinning, then back off 1/4 turn so it spins freely. - There should be no play now, if ther...

Re: Ford discs-sticking caliper?
Could well be just a stone stuck in the caliper, quite common, either that or something has moved this can happen because of: - Wheel bearing as above - Worn caliper casting allowing pad to contact central 'hat' of the disc - Loose bolts - Rust built up - Aforementioned stone - Bent stub axle - Bent...

Re: Duckhams classic fuel additive or valvemaster
I don't think an additive will protect your rubber from ethanol but for whats its worth I used to run my Hillman Imp on Valvemaster but that was a freshly rebuilt engine with standard valves and after running it for a couple of years on road rallies etc it was running sweet as a nut. Being an alumi...
