I suggest you revert to the original Lucas distributor and standard points set up and see how the engine performs. You can then decide if there is any benefit in these "upgrades". Personally I like to keep things simple and as designed. Many will disagree.

Thanks Stephen, I think I will whip the carb off and replace that O ring, might as well get the viton tipped valve for the float bowl while I am there

Any advice as to what is causing this weeping at the junction of the main jet and the feed from the float bowl? The flexible pipe looks dry at the float bowl end. Carb is an HS4. Thanks.

Here is a picture of an 005L spec battery:

I did peel the labels off, and it was a Hankook battery:

The 075 battery suits a negative earth application well:

But if they are not right, then the supplier is responsible for return postage (if they actually want them back).

If the ESM springs are not fit for purpose I would return for a refund.

If the Tolley's runs out too easily, try PVA adhesive, does the same job but is a bit thicker.

So the old pipe looked fine until stretched, totally knackered.
