Re: Sunvisors

To be fair these were NOS visors still in their sealed bags from Newton Commercial that came with a complete reupholstery kit. They were not used because my car was never fitted or drilled for visors.

I have offered a full refund to the purchaser.

Re: Traveller history

The MOT history is interesting, seems the car has had a couple of speedometer replacements over the years.

Re: Performance upgrades

I believe you said you would be using an HIF carb in which case you do not need to worry about float bowl angles, this only applies to the HS (and earlier)

Agreed, correct spring, jet and needle are essential if you don't want to get in a complete pickle.

Re: Performance upgrades

Pardon you! Cyrus, you’re absolutely right re the 60 mph - it just feels like I’m running at 9000 rpm. No idea on your performance idea but I’m going to try just the carb. BMC reckoned an extra 5bhp from that, plus generally smoother running, which would suit me. An improved air filter might help t...

Re: Right interior for a '61

My 1961 convertible is not a deluxe but had leather faced seats fitted that certainly seemed factory fitted from new (now replaced with Newton Commercial). Perhaps then it was an option on standard minors?

Re: Right interior for a '61

It would have had leather (faced) seats as standard in 1961.

These are Newton Commercial seats covers and panels fitted to my 1961 convertible, and are correct for the year.

Re: Pair of Metal Headlamp Bowls & Gaskets.

So I have made a right c**k up here  . The (outer) bowls I have are the top ones in the illustration and I have attempted to fit the inner bowls shown in the lower illustration to them, not surprising that I never used them as this combination will not work. I will separate inner and outer and...

Pair of Metal Headlamp Bowls & Gaskets.

I am having a bit of a clear out and found these metal headlamp bowls I bought some years ago but never fitted. I seem to remember there are two types, one with a big spring tensioning the outer bowl to the inner, and one without, mine are without. If anyone can tell me which car the "springles...
